That is really sad. We have done a great job removing other species from the planet and we are now working on our own.

Yep, ‘we’ really can be arseholes. The remains of his tribe killed so people could make a few bob.

We don't even kill the right people.

The whole thing is very sad, the murder of his family and now his death.

I find the idea of un-contacted tribes fascinating, to live the way they do in our world and seeing what is left of theirs slowly be taken, it must be increasingly scary for such people

Indeed, and horribly ironic that they and their way of life were the version of humanity that was preserving the planet, while those who killed him & their kind are the ones who are slowly destroying it not just for themselves, but their own descendants too.

"The majority of his tribe are believed to have been killed as early as the 1970s by ranchers wanting to expand their land."

Says it all really. Wanted more land so murdered the inhabitants and helped themselves to theirs.

I've been reading Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee which I saw recommended on here a little while back. It's hard work for the same reasons; tribes bullied off their lands, villages burned down with many people slaughtered, often indiscriminately.
