Points from August, Forest Green Rovers is key 09:42 - Jul 31 with 3120 viewsunstableblue

Bolton (h) - 1 point
Forest Green (a) - 3 point
Mk Dons (h) - 3 point
Burton (a) - 3 point
Shrews (a) - 3 point
Barnsley (h) - 1 point

That’s 14 points. 12 is more than acceptable as we bed in new players, get Ball fit

14 is what we should get from August - with our Quality of squad, manager and set-up.

Remember last season was DLLDDL… what a mess… and worryingly Derby didn’t fail yesterday after the massive flux of their summer… I think a couple of teams will run away this season… we need to be up with them

A win at Forest Green is key for me… but feel it’s going to be a bit of a lottery down there.. winning against Bristol (albeit a league opponent from last season) is big… and getting Ipswich at home a big boost… we’ll need to be at our best

Win there and the pressure drops and I can see a good August, fail to get 3 points and pressure mounts

Bolton (h) - 1 point

Forest Green (a) - 3 points
Mk Dons (h) - 1 point
Burton (a) - 1 point
Shrews (a) - 3 points
Barnsley (h) - 3 points

12 from first 6 would do nicely and get us on our way.

Too early for setting detailed targets.

Average 2 points a game or better
Improve record against top six sides (P12, 2W, 6D, 4L = 12 points)
Improve record against promoted teams (P8, 0W, 4D, 4L = 4 points)

Record against top 12 (P22, W5, D9, L8 = 24 points)
Record against bottom 12 (P24, W13, D7, L4 = 46 points)

Not a bad start, +4 points as it stands, +3 compared with similar from last season this far!

I guess MKD could be harder than Barnsley and it’ll be a point Saturday and 3 against Norwoods mob

But I’ll love to see us win Saturday, Tuesday though. Would be a real marker, and 3 wins on the bounce unheard of for Town in recent times.

As I’ve ranted about a few times, there are no longer any excuses and I really expect a Bolton, a Peterborough to just go on a crazy run and pull away… would love that to be us with them

But I’m realising that despite my predictions my confidence in the Town project took a real bartering on Tuesday. McKenna needs to lift the mood, hopefully Keogh already has.

Shame again that the heat makes things random!

Do you think they blast the dressing room with AC at half time to cool players for 10mins? Or is that bad physically going from extremes??

He must have been on one of his veers into positivity that day!

Fans need to not just turn up expecting a win next week, the players certainly won’t be taking it for granted though.

That really is the key thing isn’t it, especially at home, teams will be sat so far back that breaking them down will take time.
Patients is key.

I don’t worry that Norwood will pass on tactics to the barnsley management team, this bloke could t remember not to drive after drinking, so no hope he’ll remember tactics.

We’ll be good again... one day

Our tactics aren’t hard, look to score early and make teams come out to play. We keep the ball and aren’t afraid to play it around the back. I’m sure every team knows what to expect but as Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face!

It’s on!! 14 points, perhaps even 16…. But we need to keep winning on 12:19 - Aug 21 with 1816 viewsunstableblue

… this is shaping up to be a very high points finish for the top two, very high

That top 5 including Sheff Weds, Pompey, Peterborough and Plymouth are flying and scoring…

We just need to get our heads down, keep doing what we’re doing.

We’ll know a lot more by the end of the Portsmouth game on how our season is going to pan out

Some proper games coming up
Barnsley (h) - w
Accrington (a) - w
Cambridge (h) - d
Bristol Rovers (h) - w
Sheff Weds (a) - l
Plymouth (a) - d
Pompey (h) - w

Some proper tests… 14points? Keeping the 2 ppg alive

First 5
With 1 game remaining, I said 12 pts originally but we are already on 13 pts!
Barnsley (h) - w

Next 6
It’s a big call, I’m going with no loss in first 12 games. Not saying we will win them all but as it stands we look to have enough about us not to lose these games.

Accrington (a) - d
Cambridge (h) - w
Bristol Rovers (h) - w
Sheff Weds (a) - d
Plymouth (a) - d
Pompey (h) - w

12 pts

Accrington (A) - W
Cambridge United (H) - D
Bristol Rovers (H) - W
Sheffield Wednesday (A) - L
Plymouth (A) - W

One down, and correct, 4 to go!! And I won the correct score in a mates blue group to boot.

Feeling a little concerned about the Cam U prediction now (which is a good thing)… as we should have too much… but it will be a feisty crowd/game… our home form not as good as away
