Usually after a painful result, you want to play immediately and get it out.... 09:39 - Oct 31 with 1205 viewsITFC_Forever

...of the system.

But I think the fact there is a fortnight from Saturday until our next league game, and nine days until our next game of any sort is actually a good thing.

We can forget the pain of Saturday, have a couple of days off and put some work in on the tranining ground.

It also allows players who need a rest, Davis and Janoi in particular, to get just that.

I’m working with the fact that our blip week saw us take 7 points out of 9. Defensively shambolic in the last two but if we’d drawn at Vale and won at Charlton the mood would be so much better but we’d still be on same points. And yes I agree a rest will do everyone some good.

The way McKenna's been talking recently gives the impression he thinks a bit of a break will do the players the world of good, plus gives the injured players a couple of weeks to get closer to being ready without missing a league game.

He'll have his head deep in the analysis whilst the players are off for a bit of a refresh then straight back in to working hard aiming for 6 points from the 2 November matches.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Equally it gives us time to pick the bones out of Saturday once the emotion has gone and learn the lessons from it. Rather than having to prepare for a Tuesday night game and brushing it under the carpet.

Nah, it's all good. Recharge the batteries after a hectic October and a mad game. Look ahead to a highly winnable next league game and remember from here on in, that the game is never over until it is over, especially when you're away from home.
