Losing Wood, on top of Malan and Topley probably tilts this in India's favour I think. Plenty of strength in depth for England but just quite stretched now.

India batting first.

Kohli out within the power play would be nice...

Decent start by England.

Looks like a good start at 57/2 off 9. The current potential partnership (Kohli/Yadav) worries me a little though - we could do with another quick wicket.

For those with a passing interest in cricket, but without much knowledge of this T20 World Cup, India will be hoping to set a score of 180+. A combination of the time of year (late Spring/early Summer in Australia), big grounds, and the fact that all the players play each other in T20 tournaments around the world giving great knowledge of batters weaknesses, have made for lower scores this tournament than we have seen the best teams pile up in recent years.

180 would be a challenging total in a nervy Semi Final. 160 or less is big advantage to England, and in between it is very much game on!

Yes, 62/2 after 10 overs is good. India have scored quickly late on so more wickets will be helpful here.

Given England's ability to make a meal of seemingly straightforward totals, I'd hazard that even a target of 160 would give India hope for the chase!

My yardstick is: 3 or less wickets down- double the score after 12 overs.

4 down at 11- double after 11.

5 down at 10- the batters will be hoping to double that, but often won't.

Get Kohli quickly and that could turn the game.

India must be looking for 180 here still

Pant can be very dangerous. There's still a fair bit of Indian batting to come, but England are keeping them reasonably quiet so far.

Only a casual cricket watcher but what was that call? No bat on ball pitching in line, going on to hit leg stump, why is it not out? If they dont trust the technology why bother using it at all?

No doubt it's frustrating when DRS decisions like that confirm that the ball would have hit the stumps, but defer to the umpire's original decision.

I like the concept, though, and it's how VAR should be for offside decisions. Yes, the decision was wrong, but it was so minutely wrong that it wouldn't be appropriate to overturn the decision.

Plus, it reflects the fact that ball tracking can only offer a projection as to where the ball would have ended up and, as a result, it can never be seen as 100% accurate. That's why, if the impact occurs more than 3m(?) down the pitch, the decision will always be umpire's call owing to the significant margin for error at that point.

If DRS shows less than half of the ball is hitting the wicket, then that's within the margin of error and therefore not enough certainty to overturn the on-field Umpire's decision.

It's the margin for error agreed on for the Hawkeye technology. The traditionalists didn't want to "undermine Umpires" so a greater degree of margin for error *by the technology* is given, and the umpire is deferred to. Basically if less than half a ball's width is hitting then the Unpire's call gets it, either way.

The system has removed interminable padding up outside Leg stump against spin from the game, which is a good thing.

Im not sure, to me that looked like a clear and obvious error. Does it also work like the linesmen not putting their flag up? If the umpire thinks its touch and go he gives it not out knowing there will be a review? I know both teams have reviews but subconsciously its easier to give not out?

I think Sydney was a slower pitch or certainly one it took more time to adjust to the match on, SL scored similarly to England. Not sure if it was the same pitch yesterday but neither side scored big late on.

Or the umpires have the freedom to make whatever decision they think correct in real time, knowing that any errors will be cleared up if one side or the other chooses to review.

168/6, I still make India favourites as they scored quickly at the end there. Another quick start would be good here.
