I'm not sure "tense and nervous" is fair. What I saw was the seamers putting in a shift and keeping on going on an absolute road.

Pope and Root both deciding that they would rather let the other have the honour of claiming the match-winning catch, Robinson swinging the ball into the stumps and the bails not even chattering, and Hawkeye deciding that the most blatant LBW from Leach was going to keep on floating like the ball was filled with helium (the Umpire did a gif worthy "FFS!!!" face at that!) may have made it feel a bit "Oh it's not our day" for those watching at home, but I didn't get that impression from the players.

A brilliant result.
