RIP Martin Duffy…. 10:04 - Dec 20 with 1944 viewsBloots

….a terrible 24 hours for music fans of a certain vintage.

Long live “The Scream”.

Movin’ on up.

RIP.

Yep. Very sad day.

Tbh, whilst Terry Hall's contributions to music are more iconic, Primal Scream have played a much bigger role in my life and my music tastes. I've seen them 5 or 6 times live, and always been blown away.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Sad news
Screamadelica one of my all time favourites and they were so good live in the 90's

Pretty much this for me too. Screamadelica is one of the biggest and most important albums of my life. Tried and failed many times to get tickets for a Screamadelica tour and it's gutting to think that if/when I do, Duffy won't be part of it...

....I saw them a few years back in a massive sweaty tent in Hyde Park.

I was off my nut.

It took me back about 20 years.

Marvelous stuff.

I saw Primal Scream in December 2013 here in Berlin.
The club had a capacity of about 500 and was packed; best concert I’ve ever been to.

Vanishing Point is a superb album as well.

As great a band Primal Scream were with him, he was also great with the vastly underrated Felt.

Indeed, am I right in thinking it is Martin Duffy on the cover of Forever Breathes the Lonely Word? Always assumed it must have been Lawrence, but the image has been shared a lot today
