Do kits have to be passed as ‘fit for purpose? 20:08 - Jan 9 with 1047 viewsMattinLondon

Because I’m watching the Arsenal match and their white numbers on their white top looks almost impossible to make out.

Not up close they aren't. Weird design though.

Truly impaired.

Didn’t they wear a similar black kit last season with the same issue with the numbers not being recognisable ?

Premier League anyway - do what they want innit

As long as the ref can see I doubt it’s a problem.

My 1st thought was a ref cannot decide from far who is causing an offence (mass brawl for eg)

No names either. That is weird and hard to tell who they are.

Nice idea in trying to raise awareness for the No More Red campaign, sadly its slightly ruined by the red sleeve patch issued by the FA !

I imagine the sponsors are also fuming that their logo cannot be discerned, either.

Because the sponsors should always be at the forefront of our thoughts!

They probably think so as it’s their money that pays for a lot.

Great campaign, but I think shirt numbers are to help fans as well as the referee and I do think either black or a much clearer black outline would be preferable. Difficult to tell if the over-exposed brightness setting the TV camera has turned up is part of the issue. All except the main camera appear to pick them up fine. I suppose the fact we can't see them has got us talking about it and raised awareness at least.
