Hard not to be annoyed by pretty much everything today 17:11 - Feb 4 with 973 viewsMullet

Walton essentially rescues a draw after conceding already thanks to terrible decision making by Edmundson. Baffling what has happened to him, but he's nothing like the player we used to have.

Keogh and him makes sense against Ironside etc but not when he performs like that. Smith as an outlet one on one showed how lacking we were having to switch to that unorthodox formation.

Edwards showed a little bit of magic then we seemed reluctant to use him. Burns was slightly off with his delivery all day, yet we seemed to opt for him far too often when we had our tails up.

Easy to say we got the starters wrong now, and the subs were a calculated risk, but I can't fathom how we turned up and then played right into Cambridge's hands after starting like that. Shooting from distance and smashing crosses at shin height against teams like Cambridge seems something we are just not willing to do despite the obvious advantages they give us.

Thought Harness was important today because he often turned a 50:50 our way and Freddie did his usual stuff regardless of the opposition and the criticism.

Feels like we are reliant on other teams for now, never a position you want to be in.

Given the narrative around this game (win against a side that are in the bottom 3 and we 100% make up ground on the top 2) I thought that first half was deeply concerning.

I never usually agree with or like that sort of comment I am about to make but it's like we believe our own hype and 'think we just need to turn up' against these sort of sides. We think eventually we will wear them down and win but all too often we are left with 10 minutes on the clock and still needing a goal. If we start fast and with intensity we steam roll teams but we so rarely start fast and most games seem to be bloody hard work.

I lost count of the number of times I heard Brenner say "headed away by (insert Cambridge player)". Every so often a shot from range is needed to vary it up.

What’s your thoughts on the new mandem today Clarke and Broad

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Well Wednesday next week is essentially our last chance for us to actively pull ourselves closer to the top 2 and then as you say we've got to hope they drop off while we pick it up which is hard to see happening immediately after such an awful result.

Seem to struggle to really kick ourselves back into gear once momentum has gone or something doesn't go our way, at best it's dominance without relentlessness and ruthlessness which has seen total crap be able to hold us off for a point far more times than we should have.

Not convinced the style in general is an issue (we've shown it can be very successful) and I'm not sure we've been 'worked out' as some think and many (including myself) feared but to me it just seems we never genuinely believe we can turn the screw. We know we can do it but there's almost an acceptance from everyone involved from the players to the fans that it's not quite going to happen.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

We wouldn't have scored their goal that's for sure. And how many have we conceded from long range this season!

Both did the odd good thing, but both were given the ball in poor areas and didn't have answers for it. Felt a bit for both being brought off when Edmundson remained in situ, but understand why.

Can see why we signed Clarke and Davis but they are both still in development and you can see the gaps they need to fill in their route to being second tier and or Prem players over their careers.

Broadhead will be valuable for us if we play to his strengths and allow him to be a bit mercurial like we did Harness.
