For the people who compile stats on set pieces, what are the ‘rules’ on what constitutes a set piece goal from a corner? Our second goal yesterday, the corner is taken short and there are two or three touches before the ball is crossed in for the goal. That to me is quite rightly scoring from a set piece . What if the play had broken down and there had been an additional four or five touches before scoring… does that count? |  |

The exact point at which it becomes open play is usually clear but set pieces and corners which are cleared and then the ball is put straight back into the penalty area are still deemed to be part of the set play as the defending team is still positioned to deal with the set play. We have scored a lot more goals than in the equivalent matches last season - I think to the degree that we are scoring more from open play as well as the extra set piece goals. |  |

There have been a number of times that Aluko/Edwards have been on the edge of the box and not taken their man on - those two and Broadhead should be worth a few more penalties if they carry it into the box | |
