The fact that these were our first back-to-back wins since October 15:35 - Feb 27 with 1254 views | SamWhiteUK | and we're still in third place is absolutely wild. I'm not sure what it says, but I feel like it says something. We've thrown away a big gap? We can still go on another good run? Not sure whether to be positive or negative.

One takeaway might be that we've already gone on at least a couple of the kind of long runs that would put us in a great position to make the Top 2.

That is why we should feel confident whether we sneak back into the top two or now.

We are hard to beat, 4 defeats all season is good going, especially considering you could make a case that none of them were warranted. We deserved a point at Home Park, we lost 1-0 to both Lincoln and Wycombe where we had 70%+ possession and over 50 shots across the 2 games. And the farce at Oxford in thick fog where again we were the better team. Of course there have been spells during matches but on balance over the whole game I can't actually think of 1 example where we've been 2nd best this season.

we haven't and every manager facing us has stated we are the best team in the league, with Vincent K even saying we are better than half the Championship

Very good point. We haven’t been second best in any game we’ve played over the 90 minutes.

Yes, this is a good point. The fact that we're hard to beat bodes very well for the playoffs. Below is the number that the 7 teams immediately below the top 2 have lost this season in the league: Ipswich 4 Bolton 8 Barnsley 8 Derby 7 Wycombe 11 Shrewsbury 12 Peterborough 13 It wouldn't make us odds-on to win the playoffs, but unless our form collapses again, you'd have to see us as solid favourites. None of the 4 games we've lost have been against the teams currently in the other playoff places, although of course we do have all three of them coming up in the next 5 weeks! The other point is that all of the games we've lost (including in both cups, and including against Championship opposition) have only been lost by one goal. So even if we lose the first leg, we would still be in it. After all, we've scored more than any other team in the division, and we have a goal difference that is at least 5 goals better than any other team who we would realistically face in the playoffs (the only exception being Sheff Wed, and there's no way that both us and them end up in the playoffs...). So it ain't the end of the world if we finish 3rd. But it is the end of the world if we don't manage to get out of this division! :)
