Very Weird game 19:39 - Aug 6 with 1351 viewsLeoMuff

First 15 looked terrible, looked like we won a competition to be there, settled slightly and had a couple of good chances, but still whole 1st half looked totally outplayed, then scored.

45-75 by far the better side, scored, hit the bar denied a stonewall pen.
Sending off until end outplayed by 10 men.

The only Muff in Town.

We seemed very poor after the subs, Ladapo didn't touch the ball for about 15 minutes

I hope we've learnt a lot from today

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Fantastic game to watch, now the dust has settled. Full of drama.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Absolutely brilliant for the neutral. Nerve wracking for the two sets of fans.

We always look so much better at the start of 2nd half in games where our shape / patterns aren't working, and credit has to go to McKenna's eye there.

Very encouraging that we can still hurt top teams at this level - like you say we had chances to kill them off.

I wasn't expecting to be dominated on the ball by 10 men. I'm sure we'll look to manage games as we did last season, get on the ball and prevent them from hurting us that way rather than defending a crazy injury time lead.

Something to bear in mind, is those subs didnt have the 25 minutes settling in time the rest had, before they started playing well.

I think it’s reasonable to allow the lads that first half in their first Championship game at probably one of the toughest venues this season ( not many will get three points there). We grew into the game it seems, and as many have said, we really should have put the game to bed. Missed chances etc.

The game/ performance by Hldaky will do his confidence and ongoing performances the world of good. That was a massive step up for him tbh and he met it head on. Never first half, but he grew into it.

McKenna will have learned a lot from todays acid test, about his players individually. Those who are capable of making the step up, and those who will struggle. If the players don’t learn , McKenna certainly will.

Fantastic performance by the squad today. I’m chuffed as nuts but was a nervous wreck most of the day, I’ll be honest. Just needed that first game out the way. …and we’re above the scum .

Back o the net Town 👍🥂

To be fair, we came SECOND in a competition to be there, so no wonder we looked poor :)

No, it was great that we soaked it up and then started to work out how to play our game. We'll play better against worse teams and still not win. It's battles like today that we're going to need to win to be in with a realistic chance of top 6. So far, so good.
