If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 18:56 - Dec 30 with 3067 views | HalifaxBlue | It's unbelievable how many on here are looking for any reason to put what was just a bad day all around on a couple individuals. He played badly. So did others. He was frustrated. So were others. It's nothing and the pearl-clutching on here today is ridiculous.

If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 18:58 - Dec 30 with 3058 views | nrb1985 | Call me old school but you might also expect a valued employee, who's paid a six figure salary, to run round a bit also and display some of the basic skills he or she is employed to do. And to not gob off at a "senior" colleague when that senior colleague encourages him to do something that would be of benefit to the wider team. May have had some sympathy for your view before the gobbing off but when you've put in a performance like he did, to gob off at one of the star men is fairly outrageous. Guy had the first touch of a trampoline ffs.

His touch was poor but if you don't think he ran then you're just looking for reasons to have a go. He doesn't press as intelligently as Hirst but it's not lack of effort. His last act was to press and force the ball into an area where Harness almost won it in their box. It's pointless comparing professional athletes to other professions. It's just different. These things happen when highly competitive people have a frustrating day at work. You would also not expect a "senior" colleague to berate a "junior" colleague in full view of the public. It's just different. I guarantee that Chaplin and Freddie immediately made up, if they even acknowledged it at all. This happened in full view of the bench, right in front of McKenna and Jackson, and no one even batted an eye.

If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 19:37 - Dec 30 with 2862 views | BigCommon | FL can't really win.. If he'd have sprinted off with a smile on his face, I'm sure some would twist it negatively. And said he couldn't care less.. He didn't have his best game.. He hasn't played much lately... He cut a frustrated figure on being subbed. Rather than the nasty b'stard he's being painted as, imo... Ultimately, it's what the manager thinks that matters. And whether or not, the manager thinks he can squeeze a bit more from, or motivate a player... There's more than 1 player in our set up, that KM is rinsing the max from. And perhaps are at their ceiling.. He'll know what to do..
If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 01:02 - Dec 31 with 2623 views | north_stand77 | There's a bloke who sits near me who was screaming those exact words out as soon as Freddie came on. Horrible individual with his horrible family who shout and swear throughout the game. No idea why they even bother to go because as soon as we might lose the ball, or we're not winning convincingly, that's it. A tirade of abuse at McKenna or the players. Spoils the game for those around him and was told to shut up by a few the other night. Nobody should forget where we were as a club just a couple of years ago and should appreciate how far we've come.

Imagine if part of that well paid job involved thousands of people collectively gasping and groaning at every mistep you took. Imagine your confidence. Comprehend the self defeating cumulative negativity of that. Imagine if no matter how hard you tried hundreds of them were waiting to scream foul abuse at you. Imagine that not one single one of these people could get anywhere near to your level of ability, but you weren't able to tell them what you thought of them. Imagine you'd banged in goals left and right to get these peoples club to the esteemed position where your flaws were more evident. Oh but he told Chappers to eff off, so totally justified. Ballocks. Understanding your sentiment, I would say be the change you want to see. So move the discussion on. Start another thread, not about Fred. Or just let other adults talk about what they want. [Post edited 31 Dec 2023 8:39]

If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 12:15 - Dec 31 with 2180 views | ITFCSG | Plenty of moaning supporters in the Cobbold upper. First time I have seen this season tbh. Lots of people giving Jackson and Ladapo abuse from the get go. "F***king C**t", "F****king useless" "F**k off, piece of s**t" etc non stop especially the entire second half. Even when Begovic saved from Ladapo, instead of clapping people were saying how s**t he was. Amazing.

I think many are forgetting that FL hasn’t started a match since 1st Nov and even his substitute appearances have been minimal, with McKenna often preferring to bring on Jackson. While I wouldn’t argue with McKenna, it can’t have done much for FL confidence and the minimal game time wouldn’t have helped in getting up to speed.

Equally he has been abject this season aside from one very well taken goal against Cardiff, the other you’ll recall hit him in the face. So in view of that I don’t think you can argue against his lack of minutes, particularly as Jackson has performed reasonably well when called upon. I draw the line at some of the abuse that went Freddie’s way during the game, based on what others have posted (wasn’t at the game myself). While they’re on the pitch we should get behind them. His antics as he came off though were borderline disgraceful, both in the context of what he was being asked to do (ie hurry up) and his own performance that night, which was pretty shocking tbh even against a backdrop of near zero expectations.

If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 17:11 - Dec 31 with 1783 views | Kieran_Knows | I think unfortunately for the likes of Ladapo, Jackson and Donacien when they’ve played this season that the step up in this division has been too much for them. McKenna has clearly got the best and maximum out of them as he can, but given how well we’ve done this season, that’s not quite good enough for us anymore. For me, I’ve never saw Ladapo as anyone other than trying to help get us out of League 1 last season. Given our ‘model’ of signings, I think he was one outside of that remit, to simply do the above - get us out of the league - given his scoring record in League 1 prior to joining us. The fact he scored well before January - only for us to sign Hirst at the first opportunity again - just goes to show that IMO. I don’t get the abuse either, apart from my rant about Jackson the other evening, but my gripe has been with him from day 1, I just don’t think he’s ever been good enough for any level we’ve played at. But as pointed out, that’s why I post on this forum and win Champions Leagues with Whitton United on football manager and McKenna is one of the most coveted managers in the country right now.

If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 17:16 - Dec 31 with 1769 views | OldFart71 | People should realise where we were just a few seasons ago, around 11,000 season ticket holders and the ground was never full. Now we have 21,000 ST holders and virtually a full stadium every week. Players like Ladapo helped enormously to get us into Division One. The step up has lead to several in my view not being up to it and both against Premier opposition (Fulham) and twice against Leeds we have proved we aren't good enough. That's not to say we can't still get promoted but I don't want us being another Norwich or Luton. Even the mid table and those not quite at the top of the Premier League have very good players, quick and accurate. We need as a team another half a dozen players to make us competitive. You can only take certain players so far no matter how good a coach you are. It's a bit like a racehorse it can only go so fast and compete against similar class opposition. It wouldn't be a bad season if we finished top half dozen, remember it took McKenna and co two and a half seasons to get us from Division One.
If a valued employee is having a bad day and needs motivation and support on 17:28 - Dec 31 with 1734 views | OldFart71 | A few years ago I worked on a casual basis for a warehousing Company. Basically the people that ran the place were ars*holes. I remember one day talking to a lady who was a previous neighbour and a manager came storming out of his office asking me why I was talking to her. On another occasion a regular employee went as usually early to his tea break. Another casual worker had done the same thing and a supervisor shouted across the tearoom at them. Later I got home and had a phone call reminding me of tea break times and requesting I watched my time. I thought about it and rang them back, informed them that i didn't agree with people being shouted at across the tearoom and told them I thought that if they needed to remind workers of the length of time of their tea breaks that they have a quiet word in their ear. I then told them I wouldn't be going back.
