New manager - don’t forget … 17:05 - May 21 with 2003 viewsNorthLondonBlue2

…. we spent years under Evans with managers picked on what seems to have been minimal research and justification, working under enormous financial constraints.

We’re now much more competently run; I doubt McKenna was on anyone’s radar before he joined and if we have to replace him, I’m confident it will be the right person for the job. Plus, for the first time in over 20 years, we have the means to get very good players in the transfer market.

McKenna may yet stay, but no matter what happens - keep the faith!

I have every faith in the process, just scared about the squad really. These players are all in it together and it is the togetherness that has got us where we are so quickly. McKenna has been key to this and the entire squad seem to be keyed into him and each other. Just worried that a new man come in and changes things around training, rest times etc and it unsettles the dynamics of the changing room. McKenna and his squad are in it together and I am not so sure that a change of manager is good for us at this challenging time.
This squad play for each other and McKenna, so take him out of the equation and the whole dynamics could unfold. The new manager would have to tread very carefully and not upset things to much.

A new manager would be coming in and would be in control of putting a team together to see us face the premier league. Meaning anything from 4 to 7 first team starters arriving.

Even with KM here next season the squad will look very different.

Maybe the thought of ditching Jackson, replacing Chaplin etc (for example) plays on his mind and a fresh start elsewhere won’t carry that guilt.

We’ll be good again... one day

For the past Three years, we have lauded the man and character that Kmc is. The undeniable analytical and technical approach too everything he does. The project and journey wasn’t about getting out of league one then securing promotion to the Premier league immediately.
This season has been an enormous bonus and moved this club along the journey possibly 12 or 24 months sooner than anticipated. Therefore do we suddenly think that Kmc now feels he’s the real deal and switch to a whole new club and start a new project under new ownership?
He’s not just built a team here, he’s rebuilt the club and continues to create a legacy.
He comes across as a very very smart man, one who knows this club can grow further and without doubt become established in the Premier League under his leadership.
Of course there will be interest, of course he’ll undoubtedly speak to and listen to other clubs, why not but at the end of the day, I firmly believe he’ll give us at least Twelve months and want a crack at the Premier with us and the squad he has built.

Just as long as the new manager - if we need one this summer - doesn’t want to:

a) Come in on a war footing in his first week

b) Insist on taking photographs of the squad in their pants.

We shouldn’t worry.
