Blimey that brings back memories !

Back in the early 80’s I played for them along with a certain J Dozzell for one season

Back then though we had black shorts ala Dundee United and we beat a travelling Australian contingent who were doing a UK football tour

Well done boys

Yep. A much darker orange from memory as well.

Whitton Utd and Stow Falcons also good youth sides in the day.

Whitton were very good

Sure they had Ruel Fox playing for them

They also had Kieron Dyer, Richard Wright and Matthew Upson, very good at that level. Living in Earls Colne I can say that those international players played two fields away from my back garden.

Was it blindingly obvious at that point Jason was a genuine baller?

Yep

I also played for South Suffolk with Jason and we played against Dagenham and Redbridge Boys around ‘81 I think it was

Anyway I was number 8 for South Suffolk and the opposing number 8 no other than Paul Ince

The two of them ran that game and were head and above the rest of us. We thought we were good but we their quality was all to be seen
