PJ Harvey has been a highlight on the live stage for decades. I first saw her live at Reading and she doesn't look like she's missed a beat over the last 20 or so years.
Incoming from Yeovil! Switched. She's truly brilliant. I'd not put her in a similar vein to Kate Bush. Not seen all her set yet but she's always a highlight of Glastonbury.
I'd never heard her before, and the one song I saw yesterday gave me Patti Smith vibes.
EDIT: it's not just me. This from the Independent
She closes with a particularly Patti Smith take on “To Bring You My Love”, a brooding overture to a night of leotarded poptimism that shows how many other sonic worlds are possible. If you stay silent another minute or two, you might just hear the old gods rocking out.

She's always had a bit of Patti Smith about her at times, the below for example. But is far from a PS clone, much more eclectic than that.

is that them saying they liked it ?
PJ Harvey has been around for years, infact it was the 30th anniversary just last month of the infamous Q Magazine cover photo with Tori Amos & Bjork, that almost pushed her into mainstream Brit pop conciousness, cos she was indie right, Top of the pops appearances, chart success etc etc, but it never kind of then happened, and she just carried on doing her own thing.
Ive always felt some of her music is very good whilst some of its not so good too, it was never consistent, though the benefit of festival performances you can always curate your better work.
but great if it prompts new fans to go discover her back catalogue, theres a lot there to listen to.

You certainly couldn't tell from that snippet, but the overall review was good.
