GK:
I'm happy with 1 tbh, with Walton sticking around for cover. Signing a #2 keeper will be really difficult to do IMO, and if Walton's happy to stay in that capacity I would keep him. I can't see us getting much of a fee anyway so we would benefit from the continuity and avoiding change for the sake of change. Not to mention he's probably a relatively time & cost effective option vs. signing someone else.
CM (x2):
Priority area I think. We can't (and wont) go in to the season with Morsy, Taylor and Luongo. I'd like to see us make a statement or 2 in the middle, at the very least a very capable partner to Morsy but potentially a successor too.
Left sided attack:
Someone of the Philogene profile and mould, a statement here too. A 3 of them, Omari and Burns feels dangerous, with Broadhead & Chaplin backing up. Delap obviously can play on the right too.
#9: Perhaps a loanee, but someone who has some good PL experience would be valuable.
LB (Cover for Davis): Perhaps a youngster on loan, maybe with the versatility to operate further forward might also give us more options and much needed cover on the left.

Think I agree with you including the profiles of players you have mentioned too. Really think CM is the area now we need to make sure we get right. Need someone with top level physicality and preferably PL/other top European league games under their belt IMO. Hard to find perhaps but if we had £18m to match Southampton's bid for Downes, should be doable. Morsy is going to need more help than he's needed in the past two seasons. | | | |

It depends who leaves I guess. Harness, Edmondson and Walton have all been mentioned as possibles, on a totally totally speculative basis of course. And Ali on a potential loan? I can't recall if he counts towards the max number in the squad but I think he does.
So if we're reckoned to be on 20 players currently, it only takes one of those to leave permanently or a season long loan to allow 6 to come in. |  | | |
