That's another 35/40M in fees that have been turned down in the past 10 days.

Great to see us continue to pursue real improvements.

Certainly looks as if we will see 5 or so more as you'd presume we would certainly use both domestic loans.

You can bid all you like tho.

Signing players is the important bit.

I think you know the message in the OP Frimmers

I agree with both of you , yep you can bid all you like but if we’re bidding in those numbers and missing out suggests we’ve got funds to spend and looking to do so

The worry for me is , selling clubs have seen us show our hand but being in the Premier League that’s pretty much a given anyway

You know full well that the OP meant that the bids were a show of intent.

If we have missed out on those, it suggests the war chest and intent will remain in place for alternative targets.

Just as Ashton is a shrewd cookie he's up against the same thing at most clubs. They see two things. A huge backing by our American owners and the fact that we are in the Premier League. Go down a League and you'll pay maybe up to a million for a player. Up to the Prem and anything under 10 mill your looking at a player with maybe two or three years left at that level and one you will be lucky to get your outlay back. Given that Town's project is twofold. To retain Premier football for more than one season and to buy players likely to sell on at a large profit paying over the odds for any player won't happen. Which makes the task difficult as other clubs and players agents are looking for the maximum they can wring out of us.
