I don't think anyone knows how they would react in a situation like that but I am sure we would all hope that we would do what he did.
Must still be utterly harrowing for him to have witnessed what he witnessed despite knowing he reacted the best way he could have done.
A well known “teacher” account was suggesting that we learn to defend ourselves today and to expect this sort of thing to happen. Oddly the tweet was nowhere to be seen later and they changed the direction to more general advice about how to teach immigrant children.
What that bloke did is worthy of the word hero, as you say we’d all like to think we’d do the same. I hope he’s getting the support he needs right now.
People need to take whatever they read on X with a pinch of salt. It's a cesspit of BS.

I have just watched the video. He did not tackle him but his presence did stop the attacker from coming down the stairs and continuing. If he had tackled him it would not have made the situation better it would have made it worse. He could have been killed himself. The lad may not have saved any lives or injuries but at least he tried to.
To be fair, the Mirror story makes no mention of the guy tackling the attacker but the person posting it added that detail themselves.
The Mirror headline states that he was a hero who tackled the attacker.
It goes to show you have to be careful of the hyperbole of even national news outlets as they scramble for clicks. It isn't even just the traditional tabloids any more either.
