Phil, this might well be a daft question. 09:51 - Aug 19 with 3569 viewsMattinLondon

But, what was it like being in a full press box? I’m guessing in L1, those press conferences and unglamorous matches must have been quite sparsely populated by the media. Must seem quite strange to see the national press etc in town.

Last time Phil was sat in a press box that fulll, he got told off by Famous Roy for playing Candy Crush.

Allegedly.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Press boxes at away games were usually packed when we were in League One and were a lot more uncomfortable than Saturday! Was a bit strange going to new facilities and with so many unfamiliar faces around and quite a few regulars from previous years absent for various reasons.

Does it wind you up? Be honest. I can imagine its like being in your local on Christmas eve when you can't get a seat because all the Johnny come lately's come out for their annual drink. Where were you in January?

Ha, yes, a bit like that! Where were they in Villach for the pre-season game against Shaktar when me and Kallum were the only independent media there?!

Damn right!

I like the fact KM made a point of staying to let you get your questions in and recognising you're an 'OG' as the kids might say.

That won't be happening again after Phil's question on Saturday.

On a similar point, felt strange listening to the pre-match presser and not hearing Brenner first off, followed by Stu. Few glory hunters jumping in ahead now we're PL.

What question was that? The one about Cajuste being at the match?
Phil doesn't avoid the difficult questions, but his questions are always respectful. It isn't a big deal to say no comment, it is?

Also, lets be honest Phil asks the questions proper town fans want to hear the answer to. Signings, injuries, who we can expect to see in the lineup etc.

The nationals want a synopsis of the story which we've witnessed from the start. There's only so many times you can hear McKenna's (admittedly very considered) answers to 'how big is it for the county?' and Ed Sheeran questions. Town fans want detail, it was a pre match presser after all.
