Anyone else watched 'Colin from Accounts' ? 15:15 - Oct 1 with 1846 viewsWeWereZombies

I didn't exactly binge watch it but I didn't contain myself to an episode a day either.. Sharp enjoyable dialogue, plenty of pertinent points well made but I'm still trying to convince myself it wasn't a little too contrived in places.

Episode five, 'Waterfall', is a very good 'serious' one I thought.

Of course the final episode leaves us hanging, wondering how it can go on. So a third series seems pretty nailed on.

Didn't realise that the main characters are husband and wife in real life and that they alternate writing episodes:

Agree - episode 5 was the series at its best. Unfortunately followed by Yass King/ Meet the Crapps - the series at its worst. Too many unbelievable over the top characters to swallow in that one.

Not a Mummy. Don't have short arms.

Just finished watching the first series. Thought it was pretty good, dialogue was excellent and some great characters, thought her Mum was wonderfully gross. Looking forward to watching the second series

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

It's another in a growing line of really good Australian comedies that have emerged over the last 5-10 years or so. A very different style of comedy to British comedy, but one I've really grown to love. Yes, there's a bit of Australian culture that shines through that isn't so obvious unless you live here, but some really character development in most.

Other great examples include:
- Upper Middle Bogan (Bogan being the Australian equivalent of a Chav)
- Rosehaven
- Please Like Me (not one for the homophobes amongst us)
- Spreadsheet
- Utopia (Thick of It without the swearing)
- Summer Heights High (although that's pretty much been cancelled now because one of the characters is blacked up)
- Upright

Some great recent drama as well - especially The Twelve and Boy Swallows Universe.

That said, the new Australian version of The Office looks beyond awful.

No Kath & Kim??

Stop getting Aussie Comedy lists wrong.
