Suddenly really enjoying this season 08:25 - Nov 25 with 1029 views | Asa | Feared a few weeks back we'd be cut adrift before we could get players bedded in but now all of a sudden there are six teams a few points apart, four of whom will be outside the relegation zone at any given point assuming Southampton continue in this vein. Otherwise it could be 4 from any 7. I've come away from Portman Road disappointed we didn't beat Champions League Aston Villa and now disappointed we didn't beat Manchester United. Off the back of beating a Tottenham side that just thumped Man City! I feel like we're as good as any of the teams directly above us. Just not quite getting the decisions (Leicester) or little bit of luck needed to win some of these tight games. Even at Brentford it was the post denying us a point. We are very much a decent Premier League side. In recent weeks the much maligned Muric, O'Shea and Johnson have been excellent. Szmodzics has stepped up a gear, Omari has too and old favorites like Chaplin have come in to put in great performances to show they can't be written off. The fear is a Leicester or Southampton or Palace or Wolves really get their act together, the latter could appear to have done so, we'll see. But there are enough teams down there at this stage to suggest they are there for a reason and we've had enough impressive performances now to think that we can finish above 3 other teams. Pretty much what I'd hoped for this season. The Town team we know and love not losing it's identity, playing some good stuff and giving it a real go. The highlight for me has been Morsy, who I admit I doubted at this level, looking better than the likes of former Real Madrid and Inter Milan stars Casamiro and Eriksen, about 200 appearances between them for Brazil and Denmark. Sensational stuff. [Post edited 25 Nov 2024 8:40]

Each performance is better than the next as we gel and improve. I am not worried about teams above going on a run because it won't be them, it will be us.
Suddenly really enjoying this season on 09:02 - Nov 25 with 823 views | Churchman | Good post. As a glass half empty merchant, I think it’s unlikely we will survive. I don’t think we have quite enough. The FFP cards and gap from the Championship is against us. However, we are in this. We have something about us. There is cohesiveness and not once have I seen that team walk off not having given 100%. Despite the odd dismal error, we play good football and can hurt teams. If we can get to January in touch, I’ve a feeling the second half of the season will be better than the first, especially if we can get a few players back from injury. I can’t hand on heart say I’m enjoying the Premier League. There’s a lot I don’t like about it, including VAR. But it is the top league, the games have been fascinating (didn’t see Everton) and we are giving it a real go. I can’t ask for any more than that, regardless of where we finish. Two years ago we drew 1-1 with Fleetwood having recently won well at Exeter as we struggled to get out of the League One swamp. I thought of that yesterday looking round PR. I know where I’d rather be and in my arrogance, if I look back all those years I’ve followed us, this is where we belong - even if I still can’t quite believe it.

Muric, i thought could have done better yesterday with the goal if im being critical. His handling for a corner was a little suspect where he nearly dropped it. Still not sold on him at all, whether it's concentration, i don't know.

i tend to agree on the survival comment. Not sure we are quite good enough but with the caveat that they improve as much as they have done since the Everton game then we have a chance. The Everton game we looked miles off it i thought. Think we are going to need a good January again to hopefully get us over the line.

We may not survive, but at least we're giving it a good go, unlike some others in the past. We've some excellent players and we're very well coached. Whether we can find 3 teams to finish above is the challenge.
