Must not lose; Phillips; Taylor; fine margins need improved atmos 13:21 - Dec 7 with 1162 views | unstableblue | Think tomorrow will be tough, Bournemouth will be full of confidence, and are very quick in transition, think it will be more like the Fulham game… end to end But the Cherries do ship goals away from home; 5 in last two games. And we just need to find some of the Man U and Spurs games energy. Our last two games we have lost by fine margins. I thought we played better at The City ground, and Palace really pressed and marked us out of the game on Tuesday. It would be a huge boost to win, but important we don’t lose and we put in a performance. Bit concerned over the home support this season, the away end at Spurs was remarkable. But Portman Road was so flat against Palace… the team were desperate for a lift and the home fans gave nothing. Since the failed TIFO against Liverpool, we’ve had moments of great support, but it doesn’t feel like the rabid home backing I was expecting. Jeeze even The Saints had a huge TIFO the other night. If it’s quiet tomorrow, think it might move those small margins in Bournemouth’s favour. We have to make it intimidating- when you see the Cobbold lower or Churchmans lower getting to their feet and laying into opposition players - you know it’s working. Think Phillips is fit, and maybe time to get him into the team to drive us forward a bit, and bring some real Premiership experience. I also think Taylor is beginning to look good when he comes into games… he’s finding a bit of space and his final ball can open teams up… not a starter but an impact player to use. I think Broadhead is getting a little overhyped for what he has contributed during his limited time on the pitch. Still an impact sub for me.

Eternal question What come first the performance or the crowd performance I think a rabid, rousing and lengthy “come on Ipswich, come on Ipswich” or a tribal “blue and white army” would encourage more endeavour and forward play from the players But I know what you mean. Do think fans need to realise that teams like Palace are incredibly athletic and close space and press to passing the ball up the pitch, much much harder

Think it's just a natural thing really. If the play is slow it's difficult to imagine a crowd buzzing and getting all excited. I get what you mean tho that it might pump the team up so it's a difficult cycle.

During the McKenna era, it's felt like the "Come on Ipswich!" chant has come out when the fans have been getting frustrated. I see it as a sign we're (or at least those making a noise) are starting to turn and it's one last attempt to get behind the players. Saying that, I can't remember hearing it on Tuesday. There were a couple of rounds of "Blue Army".

Must not lose; Phillips; Taylor; fine margins need improved atmos on 08:41 - Dec 8 with 535 views | Blue_Heath | Sadly the lack of atmosphere Tuesday was down to nothing to get excited about. When we got a throw in or free kick in in opposition half, it was pass, pass then back to Muric. I appreciate Palace 'did a job' if you like but it was an awful game just like Everton. If we can't get points of the likes of those at home we are going down, hence why the atmosphere was flat.
