Thanks for posting this. Apparently America is off to Mars and the outer planets. Trump thinks he’s Captain ffing Kirk now! Bonkers.
I wonder at what point he takes Canada and Greenland by force? The latter is easy. The former problematic. To do it he is gong to have to wave a chainsaw at his own constitution and there lies the biggest danger to Trump and America.
Centralisation of power to one man and his cabal is not going to sit well with States like California with a population of nearly 50m and many others besides, however much he muzzles the media, bullies, harangues and lies.
At the moment America is in his thrall. I suspect the tears of joy fell for those who managed to stay awake for the longest first state of the nation address in over 60 years. It’s all sweaty enthusiasm but as realisation kicks in that their freedom in the true sense of the word is being taken away I predict a whole world of trouble for Trump and his merry men.

The ratio of spend supporting Ukraine has been something like 60% World, 40% US. A lot of the kit America has sent is old stock from the toy cupboard that was being replaced anyway so the true cost to America is considerable, but a lot less.
The reality is the domestic audience has swallowed the lies. It’s easy. Macron, Starmer, VZ correct him one day, he repeats the lie the next. American support is a third what they claim. It’s not the numbers (all support was good) it’s the lies. They trade on lies. This lie will gain them billions from financially screwing / stealing off Ukraine. It’s shameless theft for the wrong reasons.
Whatever happens over Ukraine’s surrender and dismemberment, it’s time for Europe to look at who next, what next. I believe a framework of spheres of influence has been broadly agreed between Trump and Putin.
The Republicans’ mantra of ‘you’re on your own’ is there for all to see. Trump made it clear last year. Putin: if they are weak, take what you like. European countries can continue with not my problem, eat him first or do something about it. I’m not confident they can or will. If I am right, U.K. will need to forge its own path. How? No idea.

First they came for the Ukranians, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Ukranian.

Sadly it showed that the Republican party is behind him to a man/woman*.
*No room for any other gender here.
No room for dissent either. As the constitution is torn up, that’ll be the thing that goes with it. If fending off the Russian dictator is our problem, defending their constitution is theirs.
Stealing everyone else’s assets and money to fill the pockets of the billionaires won’t solve that problem.

That point about the types of kit is really important. Don't get me wrong, missiles and ammunition (essentially all the 'consumable items' now) is new stocks, but it is also being replaced and driving jobs and investment.
However so many of the systems are old and the values attributed to them don't reflect their current real world value. It's like me giving someone my 20 year old banger that needed replacing anyway, buying a brand new car for £40k and then proclaiming that I've just donated £40k to them.
It was useful to declare things that way to big up contributions so everyone could measure their dicks about how much they're contributing, but it also feeds into feeling that money would be better spend elsewhere, when in reality the financial impact of aid is less than those headline figures.

The geopolitical instability, emboldened enemies of the West, and threat to supply chains (from US isolationism) will cost Americans much more than any kit to Ukraine, it’s madness.
Making America Poor Again.

He'll make most Americans poor again. He'll make some Americans very rich.

And that’s the key point. The majority of the witless bad facelift brigade cheering away in their cheap souvenir Trump hats don’t realise they are the last people he represents. He and his billionaire friends, along with his make up and syrup suppliers of course, are all that matter to the orange Sh£tgibbon.
As he turfs 1000s of Federal workers out of work, some will have voted for him and his make America great again drivel. Nothing great about having no money in America. If you are unemployed your healthcare and just about everything else goes too. Can’t pay your rent or mortgage for a couple of weeks and literally you are out. If you are out of the system any length of time you technically cease to exist.
