Norwich lost to bottom side Plymouth. I think, deep down, they'll be dreading next season.

They will be in full rebuild mode, they’ve got decent majority owners now though (unfortunately) so will probably be looking a year or two ahead after some sales this summer. We better do them next year as a parachute club!

I am at least as confident of beating them as I was last season!

Budgies around here are all delighted with what has happened to us.

They would especially like us to fail to get as many points as they did last time, which was 22, I think.

But.

They cant fill their small stadium. If you look on the telly there are gaps everywhere.

One of their top goal scorers is only on loan and they still have a residue of over paid old gits.
They know their squad is not good enough and are dreading playing us next season.

If I was not so dissapointed this morning I would be quite pleased

It's hard to disagree with scum fans about this season. We wait 22 years to serve this up which no doubt will delight them.

That said, they're likely to have to sell Sainz, Sargent & Rowe with (as far as I know) no academy gems coming through to replace.

But then this is scum and they always seem to find a way wriggle out of a mess and remain unbeaten against us!

They still seem daft enough to think they'll be pushing for the playoffs

A bad summer and it could mean real problems for them

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

There’s next to no point in scraping in the play offs - they’d lose 5-0 over two legs. It’s 15 years since 6th place won it and less likely than ever.

This season, as things stand, 5th is 22 points behind 3rd and 19 ahead of 22nd. Closed shop and very little chance of the top 3 not going up in my view.

Whilst I make your first line correct, I am not convinced about the last sentence. A closed shop between who exactly? We got promoted having been League 1 the season before, Luton got relegated and are now struggling to stay in the Championship.

Much as there has been a big gap between the top few and the rest in the Championship, who those top few are has changed over time. Whether any side can bridge the gap to the Premier League is the challenge. Not long ago Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth all did and are very much established there now. However, a poor season for one of them, West Ham, Wolves, even Everton and one of those established sides will go down at some point.

I know Leeds fans are dreading them but even if they don't finish top two, they'll probably be alright this time around

You’re right, it isn’t yet an entirely closed shop in terms of the top 3 in the championship but it’s getting there. The 3 to go up this year will very likely be two who came down last year and one who came down the year before. Last season the top 4 was the 3 relegated plus us. Luton very much an outlier.

Don’t see many candidates in the Watford, Norwich, Stoke etc mould in the current PL, but let’s hope you’re right.
