Loan deals 13:25 - Dec 27 with 629 viewscbower

Successful loan deals can be massively beneficial - Murphy, Tom Lawrence, Celina, Fraser, George Hirst and now Kipre - there's a long list.
When you get loan failures, of course it feels like such a waste. But when you get a batch of failures all at once (Azon, Akpom and Cajuste) all in the same season it can be extremely damaging. I think that's where we are at this season. Wonder how much we're paying those three?

When they dont come off it gets you wondering what research did we do on them.

Cajuste is different we knew what we would be getting but that's still strange considering we know his limits

But akpom... did we sign him to stop someone else or did we go back to last summers signings fm spreadsheet where we filtered results to championship top scorers.

Azon... alarm bells really
Joined como in February 2025 yet July 2025 they were happy for us to loan him with obligation to buy

Fabregas has said he wanted to keep Azon and it was Azon's choice to come here on loan.

We clearly didn't sign Akpom to stop him going to Birmingham. It's posting things like this which get you so much stick. It's just utterly stupid.

Truly impaired.

J2 akpom bit was clearly in jest hence the bit about the fm style filter thing too.

Of course azons choice to come here. Its English football to a side competing for promotion. But if you're happy to sell a guy a few months after signing him for very little money its a bit odd.

Azon wasn't likely to start for Como, they have a 21 year old Argentinian CF who was 86th on the Guardians top 100 players in the world.

I guess we thought he could do a job at Championship level and lets not forget that Valencia were interested as well for a while but unfortunately thus far it's really not worked out at all.

He has shown some snippets of potential i think. But I dont think hell end up making the grade in English football imo.

I don't think it's been a total failure, he has been more effective than Akpom but he certainly isn't the long term answer

Interesting to see Igor Jesus linking with Hutch for Forest, what could have been

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Azon looks powerful in terms of physique, not tall but robust. The reality, however, is different. He is either not as strong as he looks or is too inclined to end up on the deck far too easily and is not 'skilled' enough to get the fouls. He can look like he's got rubber bots on too, the distance the ball bounces off him.
Nevertheless, a little like McAteer, if he'd taken some of the opportunities to score, all of the above would be overlooked. According to Footmob, he has missed 11, yes 11 big chances. That's joint top in the league (with Hirst as it happens and Haji Wright and Tommy Conway) and he's not played all that much. Put 4 of those 11 away and add them to the 2 he has scored and the narrative changes. Maybe it will in the 2nd half of the season
