He is box office this fella! Seems like a right character. An awful mistake for the MK Dons opener (granted the sun is in his eyes tbf), then a worldy performance for the rest of the match including saving a penalty.

Going to watch him next weekend, Barnet v Cambridge to get me back to 91/92.

Was thinking earlier, why have we got so many keepers?

7 isn't it?

Walton is great. Palmer is cover or visa versa

So we don't need Muric and never needed him IMO

Slicker and Woody do well but then they get in Button, yet another buy above the young lads in the pecking order. Might as well sell them, they are never gonna get a game.

Looking at the shadows the sun wasn't in his eyes so he doesn't have that excuse. It was a dreadful error but I can't recall hearing of him making any others during his loan there. Sounds like he has done very well overall. All keepers will make costly mistakes over the course of their careers. The top ones make fewer than the rest.

We didn't have Palmer when we signed Muric

so that point is moot

But we still have Muric. Hopefully he's going to be sold. We don't need him

Button isn't 'ahead ' of Slicker really. He's in to allow Slicker to go out and play and also as an experienced head in the keeper group. Part keeper/part coach.

I think equally we signed the lad to play in the u21s who is pretty decent but again it just means Woody can go out and play. There is some real competition coming through in the keepers.

I'm not convinced by Slicker. He is always pretty wild with balls in the air. I actually think his punch out that led to the pen was poor and straight into play. He's definitely talented and some great reflexes. Just extremely erratic. Young and time to really work on things though of course

I remember the 1-1 well, at the Abbey Stadium. I was about to say that it was 24 years ago this weekend, and how time flies. Then I realised it was actually 34 years ago this weekend!

Pretty sure Mick Heathcote scored for Cambridge. I remember not liking him very much because of that. Not sure I'm any more rational as an adult after that performance from Coburn yesterday!

To think that Cambridge could have been in the Premier League. Mad. Glad we got over the line over the following couple of months. TWTD.
