If Farage was invited, of what benefit could that be to Town to have 21:48 - Mar 24 with 958 viewsJohn_Warks_Willy

a relationship with him?

Are Reform going to be elected in and around Ipswich? Are they going to be a voice on what the club wants to do with the stadium?

I hate it as much as anyone, but there must be some very ill judged reason for this rather than supporting his agenda?

Genuinely curious, I’m against what’s happened completely and not looking to justify it, so don’t shoot me down here 🙏🏻 what were they actually thinking….

I'm speculating, but there's a few egos at the club that were probably massaged by the idea of having hlm at PR. I don't think it's much deeper than that. So disappointing from the club.

I thought the club had nothing to do with it?

Well, I guess that is now becoming a case of who you believe. Town, Reform or the Athletic source

Farage is a corrupt fkr. Farage is looking likely to be the next PM (but dropping in the polls, so who knows). Corrupt PM does good things for people willing to provide unconditional support. See the US and Tories under Johnson for recent examples.

If it's a choice between promoting Reform, or forgoing planning permission for a new stand, then I'd kiss the new stand goodbye until some other party gets into power. Even if it meant forgoing a grant like Wrexham got on their new stand from their local council, I'd still prefer to go without. It'd forever be a monument to how low the club had stooped.

It's either a breathtaking piece of incompetence and naivety or flat-out hubris on the part of the club.

They either genuinely didn't twig who was coming(and frankly, they should have bloody well done) or thought they'd got enough good PR in the bank to get away with this.

I'm kind of hoping its the first one.

If someone from Reform told me the time, the first thing I'd do would be phone up the speaking clock.
