OGS with(out) McKenna 18:23 - Jun 16 with 1178 viewsZx1988

A thought occurs, with all the talk about whether OGS could do it without the coaching of McKenna and Carrick.

Ashton probably has a direct line to one of the two best-placed people to answer that question, prior to making a hiring decision.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Or you could argue that OGS helped mentor them both to become good managers in their own right, learning from his calm, considered and approachable persona.

Just playing devils advocate.

He could also ask besiktas and Cardiff fans.

As I've said before his best job in management was Molde. Neither there.

You can vibe your way to league titles in the smaller leagues. You get found out in the big leagues where the world’s best tacticians work.

It’s the difference between Gerrard at rangers and gerrard at villa.

I think OGS would be a terrible appointment. He just is not the elite coach that keeps a team like us up. He’ll be much loved and gone in Jan by which time
it’ll be too late.

I’d take Ole, think he could be a good fit - providing Pert stays with the club.

Not sure why Pert staying would be such a big deal.

Ole is a well connected guy I’m sure he would be able to hand pick his own guy

Would a bit of continuity from one of most successful periods, he’s well respected and well connected to the squad, let alone been a real good coach, multiple languages, previously worked with OGS. Would be a real asset.

There’s so many reasons in what will be a real summer of change to provide a bit of continuity where possible
