I thought one of his main problems at Wolves is they wouldn't let him recruit the players he wanted?
Similar to a lot of recent Wolves managers, they had to sell but not always able to recruit because of financial constraints.

No idea how much you can really credit managers with recruitment these days.

Will he be able to with us?

Genuine question, just that if we are already a fair way down the road on a number of signings, what makes us think he'll dign who he wants and not what the club wsnts?

I dont think Bournemouths recruitment was down to GON.

They have a very good track record.

I don’t think he technically signed any players at Bournemouth, all handled by director of football type setup. His wolves transfer record was a little dodgy but you have to factor in the mess that the board was causing at the time which undermined his position.

This is probably why we are actively going in for players now perhaps. We may be in a better position to attract players before we confirm our next manager. It looks like we are planning to struggle rather than going for it like Sunderland did last year. It's all a bit disappointing really. Surely we can be aware of relegation but still aim higher.

What to do, when Ashton doesn't want to step out of his comfort zone?

Wonder why Bristol City fans called him NATO - "No Action, Talk Only"

I can't say I like the bloke much, but "No Action" is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Probably not literally, but more wrt the underwhelming reality after lots of fanciful promises

EXAMPLE

“We’ll look at all markets. It’s interesting already the quantum of names that have come in. They’re very varied and we’re working through those now.”

So why take the easiest route out, fall back on his Bristol City alumni network once again and get GON?
