| Valencia - Van Oevelen 18:48 - Aug 17 with 2866 views | IpswichBlue18 | Reports in Spain suggesting Valenica want Van Oevelen on loan, but are trying to get an option to buy included in the deal. Can’t see us agreeing to that at all? | | | | |
| Valencia - Van Oevelen on 19:36 - Aug 17 with 2524 views | burnbudgiesburn | Weird one. Think I read that for the size of club they are currently Valencia have no money atm. If they had you would think they would have bid already when we did. | | | |
| Valencia - Van Oevelen on 21:00 - Aug 17 with 2132 views | vilanovablue | I'm convinced he stays, has looked both solid and good on the ball. Scherpen clearly has the experience but heaven forbid it does go wrong the expensive sub we bought might be handy. | | | |

Why would we go through all this just to loan him with an obligation to buy and spend more money on Pope? (Who will be expensive, especially wages wise) that would be ridiculous. He is probably seen as potential future number 1. If he goes on loan, I'd also but a recall stipulation in there if possible.

Because neither Scherpen or Walton are proven prem keepers and if our season falls away because we failed to have a ready keeper on house from end of this transfer window then it doesnt look very good for the owners data company for keepers and worse it undoes every decent signing we have made elsewhere

Seems like he's leaving on loan but without an option to buy.

In my opinion Nick Pope isn't coming here to sit on the bench, neither is Kjell Scherpen giving up champions league football to do the same and neither is Christian Walton going to be a no.3

You think we are signing Pope and Scherpen? No chance of that. Schrepen was number 1 at USG, it's his shirt. You have to back your signings as well, you can't pay someone Popes wages to sit on the bench, those wages will be spent elsewhere. Walton would have to do it if it turns into a disaster but I don't see that either.

Yes it's true for all of them and could be the third keeper bought in is the older/ coach type but given how ruthless this window has been I equally would not be surprised if the club did it. Might actually be better for Scherpen to have more time to ease in and I think Walton is already a second keeper I don't know how much changes for him. Unfair yes but it's just a speculatice argument for why they would go for him i have no idea and could be being a complete keyboard warrior. I will support Ipswich either way in the prem and the keeper but after Muric if neither Walton or Scherpen have convinced GON then maybe it will happen, no proof or truth in it. Just speculation for the third keeper choice

No Premier League club has three keepers who they could actually call on. Here are a few in the Prem ... Man U - Tom Heaton - Aged 40 City - Marcus Bettenli - Aged 34 Chelsea - Teddy Sharman-Lowe - Aged 23 (Was on loan in L1 last season) Sunderland - Simon Moore - Aged 36 (Was last a No1 in 21/22 for Cov) Brighton - Tom Mcgill - Aged 26 (Was on loan in L2 last season) It is totally unrealistic to expect a decent youngster to not be in the squad for 6 months.
| Valencia - Van Oevelen on 04:25 - Aug 18 with 995 views | Olcol | I was hoping he was staying, I believe he is easily our best keeper. Very calm but quick footwork and can pass the ball with either feet and any range. It's like having another player on the pitch. | | | |

Correct, they’re essentially coaches, not sure on the rules on emergency loans if one or 2 go down? Either way the chances of any getting minutes are slim to none. Nice work if you can get it though I guess!

| Valencia - Van Oevelen on 07:07 - Aug 18 with 694 views | franz_tyson | Just feels a bit odd. Buy in a GK and then loan him to a side who wanted to buy him. That must be strange for the player.... hardly any time to enjoy being signed by us and building up relationships here. A season on from now.... who will be feel more loyal to? No-one really wants to say it because they don't want to be negative or write off someone so early.. but Scherpen looks really shaky. Not convincing going into the season so one solid debut would be great. We don't want the Muric situation again... but he hasn't convinced. I know, i get it... we give him time. | | | |
| Valencia - Van Oevelen on 07:16 - Aug 18 with 653 views | Bluemike31 | I feel this is our first real mistake, the guy looks very impressive and could well have a big part to play in the season if Scherpen for whatever reason finds it tough, I would rather we kept him here where he can gain the experience they seem to think he needs. Sending a keeper out on loan and then talking about signing another one is bizarre. | | | |
