Rhodes On Target Again Saturday, 15th Aug 2009 19:22
Former striker Jordan Rhodes continued his impressive start to his Huddersfield career with two goals as the Terriers beat Southampton 3-1 at the Galpharm Stadium. Only former Blue Kelvin Davis prevented a rout, making a number of fine saves.
Rhodes, who joined Huddersfield in a deal which could ultimately be worth £850,000 to the Blues, has now scored five goals from his first three games for his new club, one of those from the bench.
Meanwhile, Town’s one on-loan player, striker Kevin Lisbie, failed to net as top-of-the-table Colchester beat Yeovil 2-1. Ex-Blue Dean Bowditch missed out for the Glovers due to the shoulder injury he suffered last week and which will keep him out of action for four months.
Another former Town frontman, Richard Logan, scored for Exeter as the Grecians drew 1-1 with Norwich City and Darren Bent netted after five minutes of his Sunderland debut as the Black Cats won 1-0 at Bolton.
Sam Parkin scored his first goal for new club Walsall from the spot to claim a last minute 2-2 home draw against Southend and former loanee Mark Noble netted for West Ham as the Hammers won 2-1 at Wolves.
Elsewhere, Wolves are said to be chasing Bohemians pair Brian Murphy and Gary Deegan. As TWTD was first to reveal on Thursday, Murphy is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Blues, while manager Roy Keane confirmed that Deegan is a potential target on Friday.

I know for fact that Rhodes senior had a massive falling out with Magilton hence him leaving and hence the reason Rhodes junior went out on loan last season, winning fans league two player of the year in the process. How I know, well I'm sure some of you will say b#ll#cks, fine. I know it's true. I think getting rid of Rhodes was a mistake. Think he deserved his chance, but I still keep the faith!

yeah so what he`s scored 5 goals already this season and so what if he scores 20/30 goals.Maybe this proves he was not willing to fight for a place in our team like someone said it was his choice to leave not roy`s to sell him.

personally i think there was more to it, Jordons dad left the club and wasnt entirely happy, reading reports he had a big say in the move.... ok we could have refused to sell him but who knows what goes on? roy has shown by playing Wickham he certainly backs young stars. as others have said moaning wont bring him back, wrong decision maybe but lets just move on.....

Look guys it doesn't matter now, I think he should have stayed, but he's gone so get over it. I'm more concerned about what we've got left.....I was at Exeter City yesterday to see them play the scum, you think we've got problems, they were shite! Good to see an ex-blue Richard Logan score for city, Narrich fans were very quite, it's gonna be a tough season for them...........Shame!!!

Parkin and Logan scored, sign them up. I still believe this was a very good deal. If Rhodes was that good there would have been Premiership and Championship clubs after him.

And good luck to Huddersfield for having more faith in him than we apparently did. I hope they get promoted so that we can see how he goes in the Chumpionship (I'm sure he'll do just fine, people seem to be confusing the championship with the champions league, judging from some of the Rhodes comments I've read).

Still can't understand why we didn't just loan him out for the season..surely we're not that desperate for 850K ?..said it b4 and i'll say it again - he'll get 25+ goals this season.

Bring back Pablo into the side when fit, best distributor & holder of the ball upfront, if Keaneo can stop his laziness at times then he'll do for me!!

We didnt need the money and im gutted to see him leave but judge it in three years, will he be scoring goals for fun at championship / or above level - only time will tell and in that time we might well have got all the £850,000 fee. No point dwelling on what could of been. Confident Wickham will have us saying 'Jordan who' in 6 months.
