Young defender or striker Jack Ainsley has joined Rushden and Diamonds on loan until January. The Felixstowe-based player made his senior Town debut in the Carling Cup tie at Shrewsbury earlier in the season, having signed a one-year professional deal in the summer.

Ainsley joined up with the Blue Square Premier side this morning and will make his debut in the FA Cup first round tie against Hinckley on Saturday.

Former academy full-back Kurt Robinson joined Diamonds over the summer having been on loan at Nene Park for the second half of last season.

Show them all you're way too good for this level and come back ready to push on. Good luck.

Should really be looking at a higher league to go onloan to as this can't do a player a great deal of good, especially when he is at a championship club

The right level for that age...if he hasn't played first team football yet. He's certainly versatile: so far (in his time wih us) he's been left winger, striker...and now central defender. All very different roles. Maybe he'll be a goalie next?

tractordamage he has never ever been a left winger!
why complain about what positions he has played! his now a right winger!
Richard Naylor and Dion Dublin started as strikers!
