Keane: No More Moves Close Friday, 19th Feb 2010 09:58
Boss Roy Keane says he has received one or two enquiries regarding members of his squad but doesn’t expect any more immediate exits. The Town manager also doesn’t expect to make any imminent additions to his squad.
Keane says he has had a few other managers on the phone recently: “One or two calls but we have to cover ourselves at the moment. We’re fine in terms of numbers but with the amount of games coming up we want to be very, very careful.
"We had the Steady deal, we had to weigh that one up, but I’d be surprised if anyone goes out because we have a squad of 19 or 20 available for tomorrow and other than that the rest are young kids and with the amount of games coming up and injuries, we want to cover ourselves.”
The Blues boss has been targeting defensive additions to his squad but says no further deals are currently close to completion: “I wouldn’t expect anything unless something drastic happened over the next few games. We’ve got the four loan players in at the moment, who are all going to play their part, and you can only have five really involved.
“There are one or two positions at the club I’m constantly looking at but we’ve got one or two players already at the club who might get an opportunity in the positions I’m not sure about.”
Town have no new injury worries with young left-back Shane O'Connor fine despite picking up a minor knock towards the end of the 6-1 reserves defeat at Southend on Wednesday.

The bloke is a clown. Total laughing stock. He is no good at football management. One lucky half season with Sunderland & someone elses squad. End the joke now.

What happens if/when we win on Saturday, will this website become blank? It does seem when we lose all the keane haters come out, when we win it goes very quiet. We are only 6 points off 12th with a game in hand on 12th place. Come on guys and gals its not over yet :-) Its friday, the weekend is here, I have a psoitve feeling for the weekend. Lets turne those frowns upside down. HAPPY FRIDAY FOLKS

Surely...now is the time to loan out Walters and Norris and perhaps loan a couple of Sunderland reserves?

All the people on here calling for Keane out and bring back burley have very short memories. Burley and the board at the time were the ones who got town in the financial mess we were in then. we had one good season in the prem then the following year were very poor resulting in relegation. Then fans were calling for burley to be sacked this happened, Burley has done nothing since with any other club and was do to be sacked just before he took the Scotland job over. Keane took over a poor side from magilton who never won three games in a row under his management, fans have to except we are a poor side and we have been for the last three years or even longer. We will just escape relegation but Keane has got to be given time to rebuild the side from youth to first team level.

steed: all I'll say about Burley is that you are totally wrong about his failings since he left. Derby were relegation fodder, he got them to the play-offs. Southampton were struggling, he got them to the play-offs. He got Hearts to the top of the Scottish Prem before being randomly sacked. So since he left us he has acheived more than Keane has in his management career so far (unless you consider promotion to be worth more than three season's worth of acheivement, which I might grant you if it now didn't look as though that was a total fluke)

Well said brockleyblueboy! 16 games to go and 6 points from mid table and one person hasn't just got us relegated already but is suggesting we will be in the Blue Square in three years! Those of you who think we are doomed and have zero chance of survival I suggest you do yourselves a favour. Avoid football until mid-May by which time we will be down, Keane will be gone and you can all take solace in the fact that you were proven right (even though I recognise that as fans you will actually be devasted). In the meantime, those of us who, whilst acknowledging that relegation is a possibility (especially if performances like Preston and Peterborough are repeated) will try to be positive, up for the fight and give the team (and management - whoever that is 'cos quite frankly I couldn't care less who the particular person is) our support. Yes, I agree, this season has been dire, Keane has made fundamental tactical errors and some of his purchases have most certainly not worked out but until we are DOWN with no chance 'cos the numbers don't add up, I for one will never concede. It's one thing to express your opinion on Keane as a manager and I am fine with that but to throw in the towel like many seem to have done is not in my make up. Sleeves rolled up and fight 'til the death - that's players, management and suppporters!

RK, we all know how ruthless ME can be after he discussed your appointment before sacking JM. So I would keep one ear, and eye at your back over the next couple of games. You might find the same thing happening to you.

Not the time for us to berate the manager. Sacking Keane at this stage of the season would be stupid and possibly suicide. The team can turn this around. Keep the faith. COYB!
brogansnose added 16:48 - Feb 19
This is no time to play in-experienced or rusty players. We are now in our final run of "winnable" games and if we dont.....well P45 time.As for keeping the faith or getting behind the team ,i havent noticed that we havent at the matches more so than a lot of teams fans.
stinkiusminkius added 18:00 - Feb 19
GiveusanI - this IS the time to be sacking Keane, while theres still enough time for the impact of a new manager to save us. There are numerous examples of new managers coming in that have led to a postive change in a teams fortunes (and not just big name managers). And I think it is probably accepted that our team is fairly good but underperforming, we just need a manager to get them playing to their level.

I agree with the above comment . This IS the time to get rid of Keane before it is too late. He chops and changes the team and it is FEBRUARY and still he hasn't got a clue who he wants to play . So how must the players be thinking ! We have /had a decent squad of players who just need the correct man to INSPIRE them not demoralise them !
petersongoal added 21:45 - Feb 19
