Williams Linked With Assistant Role
Williams Linked With Assistant Role
Thursday, 1st Jul 2010 15:13

Former midfielder Geraint Williams has been linked with the Town assistant manager’s role Roy Keane is looking to fill before the start of the season. Ex-Colchester boss Williams was sacked by Leyton Orient in March.

Keane revealed that he was looking for a new deputy in April with ex-Watford and Reading manager Brendan Rodgers, who has been linked with the vacant boss's job at Leicester, believed to be his preferred choice. On Monday, the Blues boss admitted he was no nearer making an appointment.

Despite his local links, Williams would appear to be very much an outsider for the job.

Please no one suggest that Geraint Williams puts his boots on and sorts the midfield out. If were playing now there would be a ninth name on the transfer list!

Nice one marcusSg-that certainly put a smile on my face!

I think we could do worse then Williams as a number 2, seems to try and play attacking football and would probably give a completly different view on things then Keane would which is what you want. Only issue I would have is if Williams comes in would he convince Keane to keep Lisbie as he had him at Colchester, on that basis we defintely shouldnt get him and please ignore all the above drivvle lol

Kenneth Williams would do a better job. If this story is correct, another "dud" identified by Keano.

Under this proposed new assistant, Colechester finished 10th in the Championship. The club were relegated the following season. When this clown left Colchester, they were second from bottom of League One. At Leyton Orient, he finished in 14th place in League One, leaving after getting trounced by Hartlepool.

So, Williams must be the yes man that Keano is looking for as his CV as a manager is sh!te !!!!

Everything seems to drag on and on with Ipswich, even the appointment of an Assistant Manager. We seem to have a manager with few contacts in the game and who is unable to attract anyone at the moment.

It's all rumour. But wouldn't be a bad appointment. Knows the club etc.

@blueherts . Heard you the first time, but there shouldn't be a space between 'no' and 'where', nor between 'me' and 'thinks'. There is a missing link you could possibly fill, however, or if that doesn't work try the gene pool.

re Your response to blueherts post.
It is deeply, deeply unfunny, not relevant to the thread; and many of us are heartily pissed off with smart alecs who come on here posturing like socially- challenged Sixth-Formers about grammar or semantics. This is a football web-site. If you want to persist with this kind of post - go and play somewhere else.

Yes, the worst player to captain Town, I've ever seen. Total waste of space.
