Town have withdrawn central defender Gareth McAuley from the Northern Ireland squad playing a friendly in Montenegro on Wednesday. The 30-year-old picked up a back injury during Saturday’s 3-1 opening day victory at Middlesbrough.

Hungarians Tamás Priskin and Márton Fülöp will be with their international squad which takes on England at Wembley on Wednesday, while midfielder Conor Hourihane will be with the Republic of Ireland U21 squad taking Estonia in a 2011 European Championship qualifier in Dublin on Tuesday.

Good news, he'll be key for us this season, can't have him getting injured.

I'll be supporting Hungary after Englands World Cup debarcle, especially with 2 town players in the squad.

Thank god Mcauley and Delaney's partnership in the centre of defence is brilliant and we cant afford them getting injured.

Lets hope Priskin who looks like he is now on form and Fulop our new goalkeeper dont get injured and it will be a good chance to see how they both play against stronger oposition and how then can perform.

So that's why he's "injured". Good propaganda Roy.

I think Roy's learnt something from Sir Alex here about withdrawing injured players from international friendlies. Good decision, with Delaney injured at the moment.

With Walters outbound it will be interesting who takes the skippers armband. Macca has never stopped leading as he commands the back 4 with ease. Not sure Roy would give him the Armband back, given the reported 'clash' of words on last years preseason etc. I hope this 'back injury' is only minor as a thigh injury hampered the start of last year for Gareth and he subsequently struggled to find form with a Keano on his case, most of the Home Fans and a annoying niggle (not the manager!)

Norris would get my vote? at the same time I'd look at Extending Macca's contract too!

Roy has learnt from Ferguson ... if in doubt pull your players out of meaningless friendlies. I have little doubt Big Mac will play on Saturday!
