Boss Paul Jewell has dismissed Hull City's head of football operations Adam Pearson’s claim that Town are paying £20,000 towards loan signing Jimmy Bullard’s £45,000 weekly wage. Writing in Hull’s programme for their 2-2 draw with Leeds on Tuesday, Pearson said that the Blues were paying £321,480 towards Bullard’s salary during his time at Portman Road.

Jewell said: “Everyone talks about his money and I have to say Adam Pearson’s figures have never been that good, but the figures that he’s quoted saying that we’re paying Jimmy are certainly way off.

“I’m a big fan of Adam Pearson’s, I worked with him [at Derby], he’s terrific, but he’s got his figures wrong there.”

Jewell says the Blues are not paying a loan fee for the 32-year-old, who remains contracted to Hull until the summer of 2013 as part of a £5 million move from Fulham during the Tigers’ time in the Premier League, prior to Pearson’s involvement with the East Yorkshiremen.

Town have not officially commented on their share of Bullard’s earnings but sources within the club have hinted at a figure close to the £10,000-a-week initially reported by the Hull Daily Mail which led to Pearson to make an earlier comment on the issue.

Jewell says it helps having Bullard’s optimistic and outgoing approach to life around a club: “He’s a very positive person, obviously he’s had a couple of bad injuries at Hull, but in the two or three years I had him at Wigan I don’t think he ever missed a training session. And you certainly knew he was in.

“He was just infectious. You want to strangle him at times, but he’s a positive person and he wants to play football. He’s missed a lot of football.

“He’s a positive person and he will have a positive effect on training and around the place, and more importantly on the game.”

You'll not find one single Hull City fan who has one single bad word to say about the man, after what he has done for our Club. As for the Bullard thing, Pearson was not at HCFC when Bullard was signed on his RIDICULOUS wages, so again he has nothing to save face about. Bullard would be costing us £47k a week in our reserves or £27k a week playing for you. Which do you think is the more economical? As for figures, Pearson has just cut our wage bill from £39m a year to around £13m a year, he has shipped out something like 22 players in 6 months and saved HCFC from bankruptcy. Does that sound like the man is no good with figures? The only figures Paul Jewell is good at are those that wear fishnet stockings and are drapsed over the bonets of Mercedes motor cars (allegedly!!)

All sounds rather childish to me, we agreed a fee that was acceptable to both clubs the player agreed to the switch (although according to his twitter, he said NO, NO, NO!) WTF - He's here for now, we're paying a decent chunk of wages. Not sure we'll admit to anything over £10k with players like Chuck and Macca both being offered reduced figures (allegedly that is)!! 3-1 Town today, I hope. COYB

The mere fact a Hull city fan has to come on to an Ipswich town website to fight your corner is evidence enough. If you don't want things being made public because of the devisive effects it would have on your squad, what does that say about your Club? HCFC have published that the payment was £320k and bits for the rest of the season. That is no different to announcing the fee paid for a transfer deaing. We have on numerous occasions in the past announced "Undisclosed Fee" when that has been agreed between the two Clubs. This is a different matter as THIS IS OUR PLAYER, NOT YOURS and we have every right to publish what we like about him. I say again we couldn't give a toss about Bullard. For the last two years he has been unlucky with injuries (as have we!) so there is no 'face saving' because he has hardly played for us. He has NOT dealt with the situation well; it does not endear yourself to the fans when drawing the wages he has been on whilst injured, to then have photos published of you on the lash in lapdancing bars in Las Vegas. You can say what you like but I am TELLING you there is no sense of the need to save face at our end. As I say we are simply saving a few quid that would otherwise be pissed down the drain. Pearson is NOT lying and the only reason I am here is so that the truth is known.
