![]() Wednesday, 30th Mar 2011 07:26 Boss Paul Jewell has hinted that out of contract captain David Norris could leave the club over the summer. While centre-halves Gareth McAuley and Damien Delaney have been offered new terms, Norris’s situation remains less clear. Jewell says that the 30-year-old, targeted by Crystal Palace and Portsmouth in January, will remain the club’s skipper whatever happens in the weeks to come: “I spoke to Dave and his agent, and that is not quite as clear as the other two. “I have no problem with Chuck, he is the captain of the team and he will continue to be captain while he is playing. “We will see where it goes. He’s comfortable with it, but obviously I understand that players want to get their futures sorted out, as well as we do. “We would like him to stay, but he will have offers elsewhere, which I understand, that’s what happens in football. “David has to do what is best by his family, as they all do, but I want to try and get my good players to stay.” In February Norris, who joined the Blues for £2.2 million from Plymouth in January 2008, said he was keen to remain at Portman Road but wanted a three-year deal rather than the two-year contract which was offered to him by the Blues before Christmas.
