Kiwomya Targeting Manager's Job
Kiwomya Targeting Manager's Job
Thursday, 19th May 2011 12:37

Departing Town reserves coach Chris Kiwomya is looking to take on a manager’s job with his three-year spell in charge of the Blues’ second string at an end. Kiwomya is amongst those leaving the club this summer with manager Paul Jewell reshuffling his backroom staff.

Kiwomya told the club site: "I want to move on to the next level now and that means management. I worked with the youngsters at Arsenal and then had three good years at Ipswich and that's a good education for a coach.

"I'd like to think I have played a part in seeing the boys at Ipswich develop, some of those youngsters are now in the first team.

"Management definitely appeals. I've worked with a lot of good people, both on the playing side and in coaching and now I'd like to take that next step

"It might mean starting in non-league but that wouldn't worry me. It's the challenge that I want."

Meanwhile, Coventry are reported to have dismissed the weekend's somewhat spurious claims that they were interested in signing Blues loanee Jimmy Bullard from Hull.

Bullard is understood to have returned from his weekend away in Spain with Connor Wickham and other members of the Town squad.

That line break is in a bit of an unfortunate position - I thought for one moment that Jewelio was going as well!!!

Good luck Chris. You were a legend in the '92 promotion season.

wishing Chris all the best, very sorry to see him go - for so long a Town stalwart playing and coaching - one of those quiet unsung heroes rin the backroom recently. I hope a decent club somewhere will see his quality & management potential, and give him a chance in that capacity.

I think he's going to make good manager some day, lets face it, he's had the right backgrounding. Good luck Chris and please don't come back with a team one day and make ITFC regret their decision.

Why did we get rid of him? Hes clearly got alot of potential as a member of the staff. He won the reserve league, and his work with youngsters has introduced us to Wickham, Hyam, and Brown to name a few.

Good luck Chris, hope to see you back (again) one day.

good luck for the future chris. i just hope he does go non league to start, as lots of managers take on big jobs to early and ruin their careers before they start.
