![]() Saturday, 27th Aug 2011 09:29 Town will not be taking their interest in Czech midfielder Jiřà BÃlek any further, according to reports in Germany. The 27-year-old Kaiserslautern player has been on trial at Playford Road this week and played in the behind-closed-doors friendly draw with Colchester on Tuesday. Former Czech U21 international BÃlek is said to have returned to the Bundesliga club where he has become frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities. Elsewhere, West Brom manager Roy Hodgson says that as far as he’s aware, there have been no new developments regarding central defender Pablo Ibáñez: “I’ve not been updated about the situation or whether it’s changed. Pablo is still a West Bromwich Albion player.” Town manager Paul Jewell recently confirmed that Ibáñez was amongst the players he had enquired about but said that a number of other sides were also interested. Jewell has since turned his attentions elsewhere with Stoke’s Danny Collins now appearing likely to join when Football League clubs are able to take players on loan a week after the transfer window closes.
