Jewell Waiting on Internationals
Jewell Waiting on Internationals
Wednesday, 7th Sep 2011 13:32

Town boss Paul Jewell says he won’t pick his team for Saturday’s game at Blackpool until he assesses the seven players who have been away on international duty this week. Keith Andrews and Damien Delaney have been with the Republic of Ireland, David Stockdale with England, Josh Carson with Northern Ireland, Tamás Priskin with Hungary, Carlos Edwards with Trinidad and Tobago and Jaime Peters with Canada.

Jewell said: "I want my players to be international footballers but it is a worrying time for me. You don't know if they are going to come back injured and with the travelling they could be mentally and physically tired.

"I don't think people realise how much is involved when players go away with their national teams. The players have been away now for nearly two weeks. They are living away from home in hotels and it can be draining.

"While it is a great honour for them to be playing for their country, it can also take it out of them by the time they return to the club, so we will look at them tomorrow and see where we are."

We will draw 1-1 at Blackpool.

A decent result.

Nah we will win this one. 2-0 down to an og and a Kevin Phillips belter and then they get a man sent off, A jimmy Bullard free kick, Chopra header and we win 2-3 with carlos edwards popping up with a screamer in the 76th minute

(imagine if that did happen!)

I reckon with the support of the travelling fans and the fact that the coaches exceeded the expectations (Clegg going in at half time in a panic and telling the players they can't afford any more coaches to take away fans to crap performances) I reckon we will make a good account for ourselves.

Boring Ian Holloway to quit after the game.

I am sick to the back teeth of "The breathe of fresh air" managers that get to the premiership, speak openly and then get a little reputation which they then start to believe their own hype and just get repetitiove and dull. prime example Phil Brown when Hull got promoted.

Yawn yawn, shut up Ian "this has been the worst summer of my life" Holloway. You got relegated, your team was woeful and not good enough, deal with it. No one owes you anyting, just because people thought you were mildy amsuing doesn't give you the god given right to be in the PL. It's not as if you were or are the only manager to get relegated from the PL. Boo Hoo, grow a pair and I hope we roll over your tangaerine machine on saturday with our big blue tractor.

Holloway for me is hugely entertaining and passionate. The one thing I would say is that I hate how depressing he can be over very small unimportant matters.

1-2.

1-1, I reckon. Bullard is due a goal for us. He has not scored for us for months.

He can be as boring as he likes as long as we win.
