Peters Joins Bournemouth Thursday, 22nd Sep 2011 18:25
Out-of-favour midfielder or full-back Jaime Peters has joined League One Bournemouth on loan for a month. Peters has rarely featured since Paul Jewell took over as manager with his only appearance this season the Carling Cup defeat to Northampton.
The Canadian international, who has previously spent time on loan at Yeovil and Gillingham, is likely to make his debut for Bournemouth when they play Hartlepool at home on Saturday.
The 24-year-old, capped by his country on 26 occasions, has been given permission to play for the Cherries in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Town's longest-serving current player, Peters, who is contracted to the Blues until 2013, has made 71 starts and 43 sub appearances, scoring four goals, since making his debut at home to Cardiff on the opening day of the 2005/06 season.

Peters.... a poor man's Vemund Brekke Skard. Good luck to the lad. Not really given a good run, or played in the same position, even in bleak times. A good run of games with the Cherries will do him good.

A real tryer - unlike some of the rest - Jewell has been a dick-head by not giving JP a reasonable chance

Well it he's obviously doesn't cut the mustard, If he did he would be on the coach to boro not entertaining hartlepool. (That's it he plays !!)

Good luck Jaime, always been a fan, but he did himself no favours when he had an opportunity against Northampton. Diabolical is the only way to describe the performance.

Yallop - why has he "fleeced" our club? He has, apparently, worked hard, always been ready for first team selection and has never whinged to the press. That managers haven't picked him does not make him a fleecer. As for Civelli - he got a very serious injury playing for US. That he made didn't make a full return to fitness does not make him a "fleecer". I suggest you choose your words more carefully!

stanway we dont owe him a living. He's been here 7 years and earned very good money along the way. I'd rather here a player wants to play and is not happy just spending his money on flash cars.

A shame he didn't live up to his promise, but at 24 he is no longer a youngster. He had a good chance to show what he can do in the Northampton match and was awful, and obviously hasn't done enough in training or reserve level either. It's a shame as he was unfortunate not to play more when Tom Eastman was our right back under Keane (remember that?! Unthinkable now even Colchester have loaned him out) and was thought of as a decent utility player, but now we have improved the squad with several signings Peters doesn't feature. At right-back, Ainsley must be our cover for Edwards currently.

Don't understand the criticism on here - it's not his fault he was played out of position. I can see the same thing happening with JET if his natural talents are not used & he ends up languishing in the reserves.
DiamondGezzer added 07:55 - Sep 23
A great waste of an undoubted talent. If you're good enough you get picked, he presumably isn't rising to the challenge.

I remember when he signed - he was touted as a 'real coup' ..never seen that , and Jewell likes more physically developed players ie not vertically challenged - If you are a small player - and he is - you need some other strengths apart from speed - like skill , control , vision etc - Messi(is a Genius) and afew others have that - Peters - no way - Good Luck to him at The Cherries though - but never gonna feature here .He is neither a good winger or a good FB - Squad player at best

Not good enough for me always tries hard but that is it 70 starts in 6 years under 3 managers says it all no real position

Disappointed Jaime never really made it after much initial hype, 'cos I like the lad. But at right back, his positional sense let him down sometimes, and as a winger, while showing occasional flashes of brilliance, he never actually seemed to score or get that final telling cross in. In midfield, he did a few good things from time to time, but never dominated a game (not one that I saw, anyway). So with regret, it's probably good for Jaime that he moves on to pastures new. If he does, I wish him the very best.

If only half the players put in the effort that Jaime has historically done in games Town wouldn't be a mid table average championship side. Yallop - 'fleeced the club for 7 years' - really, think again! If you had been completing dropped of the scene like he has been since Jewell arrived there would be no surprise in his head going down. Northampton game was disappointing but it was hardly a game for him to get excited about as the Club didn't even take it seriously with a team half full of reserve players! Good luck at Bournemouth Jaime and hope you come back ready to be considered again.
