Great thanks very much, just like the Norwich game last year

I reckon the referee might delay the game by 15mins roughly, just because it will take people longer.

I doubt it, they didn't last year when it happened and it says there are likely to be delays of 60 minutes with a number of the trains being cancelled

I don't really want to be an apologist for NE as their service leaves much to be desired, but I understand this is quite likely due to copper wire thieves. Not much NE can really do about this.

People moan about this but surely if there is a problem like this arise it not an intentional fault and surely is in the interest of public safety to sort it, I'd rather be reading about delays than mass casualties.

hollywoodginge - from reading your comment, you are obviously an infrequent user of the train, and thus, do not witness first hand the ineptness of National Express...?!

Travelled up at lunch time ... ad hoc cancellations from Liv St and the journey took an extra 15 minutes due to no platform being available at Colchester. good thing though is that even with a restricted cheapo tkt from Liv St ( adult £8 single) they were accepting any tkt for any train. Top Tip.... Just start off earlier.... And dont bank on the last train operating !

they have had overhead wire damage at bethnal green since 6am this morning. 5 out of the 6 lines out of liverpool street now open so shouldn't be as bad as this morning. i work for them but can't wait for february when nat express go.

There will be even more problems for those traveling back on A14 WEST after Stowmarket as road closure 2000 to 0600 FFS.....................

Jimmystroxton - I actually do use it often as my daughter lives in Surrey, in my experiences of delays it's cost me time spent with said daughter, a bit different to missing the start of a football game, but I tend to not attribute blame or point fingers and realise that unscheduled faults like the one today can occur and that delays are bound to happen, they are needed to fix things. If however I read that train driver strikes or shortage of drivers due to a retirement party for old jim the rail gaurd then my opion would be of a different nature, but enjoy the game if you are going jimmy, I hope you get there on time and safely

Some of you are complete idiots!! Overhead wires are infrastructure which is under Network Rails property, National Express just pays for the privilege of running a service on Network Rails land.
