Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Tuesday, 29th Nov 2011 19:14

Veteran midfielder Mark Kennedy is a surprise recall to the Blues side for tonight's game at Burnley. The 35-year-old Irishman comes into a much-changed midfield with Jimmy Bullard and Lee Bowyer as expected returning to the XI.

Arran Lee-Barrett makes his first league start of the season in goal, with Richard Wright sidelined by a minor shoulder problem, the same injury which keeps David Stockdale out of the side. US U20 international Cody Cropper, who is yet to make a senior appearance, is on the bench.

Ibrahima Sonko is included amongst the subs after his absence due to a hamstring problem.

Daryl Murphy's inclusion allows manager Paul Jewell to line his side up either in a 4-4-2 formation as against Reading on Saturday or in the 4-5-1 he utilised earlier in the campaign.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Ingimarsson, Collins, Cresswell, Bullard, Andrews, Kennedy, Bowyer, Chopra, Murphy. Subs: Cropper, Sonko, Carson, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland.

Burnley: Grant, Trippier, Duff, Edgar, Mee, Bartley, McCann, Treacy, Stanislas, Rodriguez, Vokes. Subs: Stewart, Easton, MacDonald, Hines, Marney.

If he's fit and willing he must be a good selection.
Will he be here next year? Oh that's a plus then.
Jimmy is Mr CaughtinPossession at the moment. He needs a rest or a change of boots.Bowyer might be THE man. We desperately need Sonko's physical presence.

exactly dowson, good voice on him too, bit more captain like that our current muppet of a captain, that position healy wasnt too bad at either, get Hyam out on loan though PJ and get him ready for next season, hes great infront of a back four and has pace, he just needs to learn to be louder!

To all the those people who keep saying "Jewell out" and nothing else, cant you think of anything intelligent to say? the team needs supporters. i seriously doubt they even go to games, hence no real comments to say.... speaking of supporters, those who made the trip to burnley really deserve to see a good result, hope the players give them something to cheer, i applaud them all..... And another baffling first half substitution. Edinburgh for Murphy - and no injury involved!

Jewell doesn't have a clue!

Stats say eight shots on target to our two, plus the lions share of the possession and there's still 45 minutes to go.

I really can't see us getting back into this game, best we can now hope for is to keep the score down.

Carson not in the starting line up, Martin and Wabara not even in the squad just another side full of tired old legs and tired old tactics.

Very sad, and wholly unacceptable, that it has come to this..

we can't lose 3-2 with 2 goals in the last 5 mins this time.

Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble give a whistle
This will help things turn out for the best.....................

There is still a half to go. However, PJ's starting 11 beggars belief - more importantly - when was the last time TWTD posted such an article before the game kicked off? Perhaps Phil has had enough?

If we lose tonight it is clear PJ has to go - but will luck shine through? Let's hope so. COYB's.

Well that's a surprise 2 down at half-time and another conceded at the end of a half. Going for a 4-0 now, what the f... is going on, I have supported this team from the potteries since the late 70's can't recall having this little confidence in getting a result.

Carson on the bench and Martin not even in the squad?????????????????????????? They've brought pace down the wings and brought goals.
How Bullard makes the starting line up after a string of very poor preformances, especially when he came on on Saturday.
Really losing the faith now.
