Pearce Undergoing Treatment
Pearce Undergoing Treatment
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 12:29

Town target Jason Pearce is now reported to be undergoing treatment at Portsmouth, accounting for his absence from training this morning. There's no suggestion that the 24-year-old has a significant injury problem, however.

Defenders Ricardo Rocha and Tal Ben Haim are also said to be in the physio’s room, while Jamie Ashdown is training in a gym.

Portsmouth's Australian winger Ryan Williams is understood to be closing in on a £500,000 switch to Fulham.

The closer we get to this evening's deadline, the less likely the Blues would appear to be to sign any of their three targets.

Reports elsewhere continue to link Keith Andrews with a deadline day move to the Blues but we understand this is wide of the mark with the Irishman set for a Premier League side, probably Wigan, not Reading as claimed elsewhere, if he can negotiate an exit from Blackburn.

If not, a move to a Championship club may be on the cards from next week, although Town may no longer be interested having signed Ryan Stevenson from Hearts over the weekend.

Surely if these lads were going to sign for us today they would be at PR having a medical and sorting out contracts.
I think we will end up with nobody.
Brace yourselves for a very bumpy ride!

No one coming to pr today. They're just getting the wheelchair ramps ready for next weeks cart horses that we'll be getting on loan.

Be interesting to see if Delaney and/or Leadbitter are in our first 11 or on the bench for tonight's game....

Honestly cannot see us signing anyone ,all talk from the club again as it was this time last year and in the summer .Evans not willing to pay out to compete with the bigger clubs in the league which is why we find ourselves in the league position we are in and will be for the for coming future . Jewell now needs to get his players playing to a formation ,game plan and to their ability

If it is true that Portsmouth players are not getting paid then we will be signing them.

In jewel i trust (until 11pm, where i have a disclaimer to change my mind)

just a sad reflection at how unattractive a prospect signing for ITFC has become. we are in freefall in the league and have little or no appeal even to players at a club that cannot pay wages.

take a bow marcus evans.

We ain't signing anybody today so it will be old loans and jewell saying how hard they all worked to get deals done and how much he hates deadline day and don't blame clegg and.........blah blah blah.

Hopefully the next time I visit this site this headline will have changed to "Pearce Undergoing Medical". We can dream can't we?

Well a few interesting weeks ahead then. Prob no new players (who can blame them would anyone want to come here at the moment) a clueless manager in a relegation scrap with a team he built and none of this will be his fault. Will tickets be cheaper in Div 1 ???

Why if we can get these players in, have we been wasting 2 weeks chasing them, instead of looking at the other iron in the fire.

The club are in trouble and we may have signed two midfield players of which one will be back at his club on loan.

Has to be a reason why it has taken so long to agree a fee for the players and surely the players agent would have been contacted to see if the players would like to come to Ipswich in the first place

Good ol' Clegg. Chase players for weeks only to fail. Guaranteed loan players in after tonight to see go down.

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO THIS ONCE GREAT TEAM???

Hopes dashed again - everything that happens at the moment makes me so downcast and I really fear we are going down this season. We do not have a defence and we have a goalkeeper or goalkeepers that would not impress in the bottom tier of English football. Dreading tonight.

I hope I'm getting ahead of myself, I like to have all the facts before I draw a conclusion but this time I can't help it and my conclusion is that Clegg couldn't negotiate a deal even if we were offered the player for free and the player was willing to play for nothing! Same old nugget, we had it when Derry was willing to sign abut the deal couldn't be done, we allowed Norris and McAuley to walk away for free when we'd paid in excess of £3.5m for them, even though I'm not bothered about the possibility of losing leadbitter there's potentially another £2.5m down the drain when he is allowed to leave on a free at the end of the season. It's all getting too much at the moment, and even though I will ALWAYS support Ipswich through thick and thin it is just depressing! Give me access to Greene King, I'd have a great time, oh hold on......I'm sure Mr Clegg couldn't even arrange a pi$$ up there!!
I need to go lay down in a dark room........wake me up tomorrow morning when we've signed nobody!!!

BuryBlue , i,m starting to agree weeks of so called negotiations and nothing apart from a loan keeper who i guess could be recalled and a £50,000 Scotsman who i hope becomes a world beater !!! Looks like Jewell has identified targets and then its gone nowhere . This must point to Clegg ? or Evans ? We need someone in that job that is passionate about Ipswich and Suffolk , has Clegg moved to the county ? I bet not . I wish the team the best of luck tonight but i cannot help but think we supporters have been sold down the river again !!
Season Ticket sales coming up , no more for me i will pick the games to attend next year unless someone can help me renew my faith in the next 9 hours .

So basically in this transfer window we have signed a gk on loan, who can't kick and has rashes to come and be an outfield player and a midfielder who hasn't played for months and has had a long running dispute with his previous club! Doesn't actually inspire much confidence for supporters with Division One trap door opening and all the fans knowing exactly what positions (RB and CBs) required strengthening before the transfer window opened and yet none have been filled (to date) and don't actually look like they will be now!

Well if we dont sign any of the three players weve been after, and pompey only sell Williams to Fulham for £500'000 then in my estimations they are Fooked, with their bank frozen and only one sale its bye bye pompey, talk about fooking stubborn, refuse to sell their players, then go bust and wound up, and lose the lot for nothing, there must be some right thickos down there

Maybe ashfordtrueblue the players didn't want to leave, same thing that happened to us when we went into administration and there is nothing the club can do apart from tear their hair out!
