Portsmouth Triple Deal Talks Continue
Portsmouth Triple Deal Talks Continue
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 15:17

Town continue to work on their triple move for Portsmouth’s Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson with negotiations set to go all the way to this evening’s 11pm deadline.

Despite the trio all being in Hampshire this morning, talks between the clubs and involving Pompey’s parent company’s administrator have continued behind the scenes and claims that the deal is all but dead are somewhat premature.

Town could still land one, two or all three of their targets with just under eight hours of the window remaining.

A source close to Pompey told TWTD earlier that versatile midfielder or defender Joel Ward was the most likely of the three to sign, although wasn’t ruling out any of the trio making the switch to Portman Road.

Portsmouth need to sell players due their ongoing financial problems which saw them issued with a winding-up order last week. Winger Ryan Williams looks set to join Fulham for £500,000 but they would appear to need to raise significantly more than that with HMRC owed £1.6 million in unpaid PAYE.

Even if all aspects of the deal (or deals) aren’t sorted before tonight’s deadline, Town have previously signed players such as Alan Quinn and Jon Stead on loan initially with the details of a permanent switch completed in the days afterwards.

We understand no other deals, in or out, are currently ongoing.

Hello Norwegian Blues. Just wanted to let you know that I am coming to Oslo to see the Norway v England match in May. It should be much more fun than watching Ipswich at present

If we get nothing after all this you cannot blame Jewell if he and the scouts have identified the Targets , its the negotaitor and that probably falls at the feet of Clegg ? Time will tell ! You have 6 hours to go mate good luck !!

We have been talking for over a week ...this story is to hide the fact Jewell still hasn't sorted ANYTHING out.
No one wants to come here because between Marcus Evans managers Keane and Jewell we have lost the heart and soul of the club and turned it into a rubbish heartless dead end club with zero prospects and 66million of debt. We were a team that created players, now we are seen as one that is the place old farts spend their final days picking up their last pay packets.
Jewell may have realised his failings in the approach but the damage is done, we are no longer seen as an attractive prospect for up and coming players

BORING.............

Teams that mean business do the business

We fail miserably wether it be January or Summer windows

Ipswich needs to become the shopping capital of the UK, have the best nightlife in the UK to get the wags interested - Ipswich has neither.

And all this crying aside, if you were any of these players why would you want to come and sign for Ipswich?? Really and truly what has the Club/ Team got going for it currently - Sweet Nothing

Forget the stores - concentrate on opposition for next season - League 1

This club has been in a sad state of affairs for too long now

Talk about going down to the wire.

I do hope some of the naysayers on here will give the club at least a modicum of credit IF (and I admit it is a very big if) we manage to pull these deals off.

COYBs!

you watch we wont sign no one, WHY well easy once the olymics are out of the way marcus and his olympic crony clegg will leave, as he proberly only used itfc as a marketing platform for 2012, thats why jewel is still here and clegg, and thats why we havnt signed any one, this playtoy has failed and he will cut and run, i might be a bit synical but hey lets wait and see, and then we will see i told you so,

if evenas heart was in it, jewel would have been gone, he would have used his cheque more wisely on getting in a good manager and head coach and build from there, he tried keane and that failed in terms of the club but prob not the amount keane was on sky with the big brand behind him, but still hope im totaly wrong, also defo ditch murphy, keep martin and carson on the wings, hyma and dury in the middle and chops and scotland upfront, thats the only way we will get any thing out of this game. if leadboots is in we are also stuffed,

All the eggs in one basket. This will surely make or break PJ. Need at least two of tem to do any good - but a CB is CRITICAL.

If Pompey are talking, then surely there's a deal to be done. Might have to pay over the odds, but these are desperate days. Will be more costly if we get relegated. Offer them a deal they can't refuse and be done with it.
