Two Changes for Town
Two Changes for Town
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:20

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes from the side which lost 3-1 at Leeds 10 days ago. Suspended keeper Alex McCarthy is replaced by Arran Lee-Barrett, while Michael Chopra takes over from Jason Scotland up front.

The Blues would appear to have plenty of options in terms of formation with Lee Martin perhaps taking up his recent role behind the lone striker, in this case Chopra, or into a three-man central midfield in 4-5-1.

Alternatively, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or Daryl Murphy could join the former Cardiff man in a conventional 4-4-2.

West Ham make two changes with the injured Papa Bouba Diop and Sam Baldock out, but with the latter still in the 16. Matt Taylor and Henri Lansbury take their places.

Former Blues loanee Mark Noble starts for the Hammers. A full match preview can be found here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Sonko, Smith, Cresswell, Martin, Hyam, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Wright, Delaney, Bullard, Leadbitter, Scotland.

West Ham: Green, Faubert, McCartney, Tomkins, Reid, Noble, Collison, Nolan, Lansbury, Taylor, Cole. Subs: Baldock, Faye, Nouble, Hall, O'Neil.

ipsuefa - agree! why is carson not playing for god sake?! murphy is terrible, and lacks just about everything, whereas YOUNG josh carson has pace, and frightens defenders! i'm sick of this! JEWELL OUT! bring in dave jones, or neil warnock and get the club back where it should be! PREMIER LEAGUE!

10-0 to west ham is more viable than an ipswich win, thats how bad things are

Another depressing evening and waste of £75 don't think i'm going to bother after tonight, cant be doing with the 180 mile round trip to watch this farce anymore and having to listen to the same rubbish from jewell on the drive home

Hold on abit

Scotland, player of the season, suddenly drops off. Incredible

And Chopra who seems to be dead wood comes back.

And their roles are distinctly different

Is a betting syndicate paying PJ's wages?

Check out PJ's bank account (vide young ex Portsmouth Manager)and ask whether he has moved his family to East Anglia.

This is really awfully unbelievable management

Nothing makes sense at Portman Road these days and often when there is no sense there are lies.

Have not been to a game since the 4-0 home defeat to Newcastle and what a good decision i have made.

We cant sign a player and we are going to let Carson leave, why would he sign a contract when he cant get on the bench, we play loan players instead of the futrue stars.

Jewell has found the players we need yet Clegg and Evans cant close the deals. so a new manager will make no differance to us

come on you blueeees!

our team isn't a bad team i don't know why people are saying we are definitely going down. we just need to be able to hold on to our leads.

we have shown we can score first on a regular basis so its not as if we are just plain bad. we lost against leeds due to a mixup at the back. thats not going to happen every week!

I have to agree with the comments above about Carson. I've grown tired of all these loan players and would rather see one of our own home grown talents on the pitch.

At this rate there's not much incentive for him to sign a new contract if he can't even get a place in the side or on the bench.

actually captaincrunch... it does happen virtually every game we give away stupid goals down to mix ups and bad play, hope tonight is the exception, but i wont be holding my breath..coyb
