Fans Reunited 3 at Portsmouth
Fans Reunited 3 at Portsmouth

Portsmouth fans are inviting supporters of other clubs along to Fans Reunited 3 when they face Bristol City at Fratton Park on Saturday.

Fans United and more recently Reunited days are a show of solidarity with a club in crisis by fans from across the country and the leagues, who attend the games in their own colours.

The first Fans United game was back in 1997 when Brighton were at their lowest point, the Seagulls beating Hartlepool 5-0 in front of fans from across football, including some in Town shirts.

Earlier this season two Fans Reunited days were held at Plymouth during the Pilgrims’ crisis with Town colours again present. More details on Saturday’s event .

A great idea.

Never nice to see any club in trouble, must be devastating for the fans.

Not a lot of sympathy for Portsmouth, unlike both Brighton and Plymouth

Fell sorry for the fans but no sympathy for the club as they have spent beyond their means and gone into admin again... Should have learnt their lesson first time around.

Pompey were a team that went for all or nothing... and didn't get all...

Like many I have little sympathy for those in charge but I do have a lot of sympathy for the fans. It would be a sad day if the club totally sinks, which now seems almost inevitable.

No thanks Portsmouth... why should my hard earned money go to a club that has just recently come out of administration and is reported to be paying a player approx £30,000 per week. I have sympathy for clubs like Brighton, Plymouth, Port Vale and Darlington and would gladly give money to there course, but not Portsmouth.

I have no sympathy at all, they could have accepted Ipswich's offers in January and they wouldn't be here now.....
I remember when it was us and we sold Holland, Ambrose, Bent, Hreidarsson all on the cheap - It'l take a club like Portsmouth going out of business for others to wake up

Rickw - I thought they did accept our offer but we couldn't agree terms?

Feel sorry for the ordinary fans looks like they have been taken for a ride again. Shame their players weren't better advised to accept the terms we offered then perhaps the club would be closer to staying alive.

I feel for Pompey because lets be honest they have the best fans in the league, hopefully someone will buy them out very soon!

Djc75 & Rickw you're both spot on, darlington and brighton etc never had players like john utaka on £60k a week.

AlexGreen - they let them two transfers drag onto 9pm on deadline day before they accepted giving the players no time to think properly about the move. Plus they didn't even accept a very good offer for Pearce, that money would have saved them from what has now taken place. When we were in their shoes every 1st bid for our valuable players were accepted!

A role call of Portsmouth players from the last 10 years includes Paul Merson, Kanu, Sol Campbell, Jermaine Defoe.. much money was spent there.
I will remember them beating AC Milan at home, surely a great memory for them.

Ward deal had to be done by the weekend yet no news so I am guessing the story was more media hype.

Do we want players who are prepared to bleed a club dry

AlexGreen - 2 were accepted, but the club also told the players they didn't want them to leave, so neither player even spoke to Ipswich...

If the club said "look we need the money, you need to go...." it would have been very different

Like a lot of others on here I have the greatest sympathy for the true fans of Portsmouth and for their heritage as a club.
I really don't have ANY sympathy for their plight overall though as they have overspent and wasted vast amounts of cash. When times were good I wouldn't expect them to give me or my club any money. When it all goes pear-shaped I also feel that they should take the consequences.
Until a few clubs go out of business the need to budget properly and maintain a club within sensible bounds will be completely ignored.
I wish them no ill (even though on EVERY occasion I have been to Fratton Park their fans have been violent, confrontational and aggressive...) and yet I will not shed a tear if they cease to be...

Hopefully they will survive, never like to see a club go bust. At least until the end of the season, we need those six points! COYB!

Same feelings as many others on here - the fans are great (I know a fair few of them) but their club has repeatedly let them down over recent years and lived beyond thier means - that's why the points deduction rules are in place. The fans would be well advised to look up the coast towards Brighton as the way to get back, but they may have to go under first.

Rock

Yes they do , should be docked another 15 points for the repeat performance in such a short time !!! If they do not have the nous to see the problems and dealing with them at the right time they deserve to go under !!! They have been rooked over the last few years by owners , managers , agents and players !!!

I hope they go bust along with Rangers but after the season has ended so we keep all our points.
