Maduako Signs Pro Deal at Leicester
Maduako Signs Pro Deal at Leicester
Wednesday, 18th Apr 2012 22:20

Released Academy central defender Jide Maduako has signed a one-year professional contract with Leicester City. TWTD revealed that the second-year scholar was on trial with the Foxes in February.

Londoner Maduako was one of five players told they would not be offered professional terms by the Blues at the end of their scholarships.

Right-back Callum Bennett, the only second-year to be offered pro terms by the Blues this summer, has turned down his deal.

Why is a young lad deemed not good enough for ipswich, but worthy of a pro contract at a better club?
I don't understand at all.
Imagine what Sir Bobby would have thought of this.

Ericgates....i dont know what Sir Bobby would have thought, but it might have reminded him of the time he had 2 unknown youngsters at the club, for trial,( different occasions of course) one was called Paul Gascoine the other Ruud Gullit and deemed neither of them good enough. Bobby Robson, is a legend at portman RD and always will be. But the game is full of what ifs..
I know nothing about this Lad, So i have no opinion on this, just wish people would think more often b4 they post.....COYB

To be fair to Sir Bobby Dissboyitfc he did like the look of Gascoigne but the tubby lad felt homesick but your right about the negativity, I sometimes wish there was a repository of all the negative assertions on here so we know who not to invite to any promotion party next April 2013 ;-)

Good luck Jide i would concede he was very often shakey but people need to remember he is only 18 and at this stage it is supposed to be about learning your trade and progressing unfortunately under PJ and his croanies there is no room for either

You can't keep every youngster on the books. This 'not good enough for us but good enough for Leicester?' stuff is complete tripe!

In my career I have been fired and then come back through sheer determination and persistence. He has been fired and now given a second chance. He must put everything into taking it because he won't get a third. Good luck!

Dissboyitfc & Scowie

I think you will find factually that Ipswichjon is right that Sir Bob did like Gazza but he was homesick, and as for Gullit Sir Bob was ready to bring him to Ipswich to replace the loss of two other dutch players but it never happened as circumstances changed and Sir Bobs successor never followed up the lad.

If you are going to post, make it factual and not opinion.
