Murray Unused Sub
Murray Unused Sub
Tuesday, 5th Jun 2012 10:28

Blues striker Ronan Murray was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland’s U21s drew 2-2 with Italy in a Euro 2013 qualifier Sligo last night. Murray has previously won two U21 caps.

One-time Blues reserves keeper Ian McLoughlin started but was subbed in the second half due to injury, while another former Town man, Conor Hourihane, also remained on the bench throughout.

Elsewhere, ex-striker James Scowcroft has been named first team coach of Bury Town. The role allows Scowcroft, who played at Ram Meadow at the end of his career, to continue with his media work next season.

It will do ronan good to be involved with this talented U-21 squad for the next few seasons. His time will come when he will be banging them in for Ireland seniors!

Well done too to Jamie Scowscroft, in his job at Bury Town!
Best of luck!

Would we get much of a fee for Murray? I would sell if I'm honest.

He would be rated around 150k imo, comparable to a good League 1 striker.
I honestly think if he gets a consistant run in the team he will show his worth. Di Canio had high opinion of him at Swindon. He would provide good back up to our main strikers next season and would be a fine impact player with his pace, agression and reputed finishing ability.

Cause we are Championship club (and with a bit of cash) it would cost us alot more to buy an equivalent player as a replacement

Would he provide GOOD backup to our strikers though?

We've been hoping for him to make a breakthrough since the start of Keane, and he's done nothing.

How does anyone know until you play him? We couldn't be bothered to find out about Rhodes, please don't make the same mistake.
