Town Release Bristol Rovers Prices
Town Release Bristol Rovers Prices
Thursday, 28th Jun 2012 13:32

Town have announced the ticket prices for the season’s opening game, the Capital One Cup first round tie against Bristol Rovers at Portman Road on Tuesday 14th August (KO 7.45pm). Adult tickets will cost £12 with concessions at £8 and under-16s gaining entry for £1.

Tickets purchased on the day of the match will be subject to a further charge of £2. The full arrangements for ticket sales will be announced next week.

Meanwhile, Watford keeper Scott Loach and free agent former Cardiff glovesman Tom Heaton are both reported to have said they’ve received no contact from the Blues.

Town are understood to have made an enquiry to Watford regarding former Blues academy schoolboy Loach, but wouldn’t be able to speak to the player directly unless given permission by the Hornets.

Heaton, who is believed to be a Watford target this summer, is not thought to be on Paul Jewell’s list of potential new Town keepers.

A decent price. Pleased with this

Two grumbles:
1. Why oh why put off people wanting to turn up on the evening by charging another £2. I just do not see the sense in it.
2. Adult tickets cost more than the pre-season friendly against West Ham. This reflects poor pricing for the friendly, which is still too much for adults in my opinion, especially given the difficult financial climate.

I agree...don't understand why the club would increase the ticket price on the turnstiles. Good price though.....You would hope the reduction in prices would result in a 25,000+ attendance.....can't see it though!

I think the town would do well to say season ticket holders get free entry to this game and charge a tenner for anyone turning up on the night. They will be lucky to get 10,000 pay to watch this unless any ST holders have signed up for the cup games and have the price auto deducted.

The what Cup?

Seriously, would the writers of TWTD news stories get in any trouble for calling it what it is...the League Cup rather than giving another corporate financial company undeserved publicity?

Seems very reasonably priced. Now for some new players who are fit enough to play in the game!

the £2 difference could be the additional cost of the club printing tickets themselves, it may be that the club are offering cheaper tickets by pre booking as you can print them at home now cant you? Saves them so cash so they can buy better players.. win win....maybe....

Users of this forum ask for cheaper prices. Town offer cheaper prices. Users of this forum moan that there isn't a cheaper cheap price for ST holders. Further proof, if it was needed, that you can't keep some of our support happy, regardless of your actions. Pitiful.

Couldn't agree more Blue Lion. £12 isn't a lot these days anyway.

Besides, it's also even cheaper than what it was FOUR years ago when we played Leyton Orient at home in the same round. Was £15 adults that night.

Anyone know if concessions include under 20's?

Wanted to take my 97 year old great aunt, who is still a Bristol Rovers season ticket holder. As she can't manage the stairs very well, I made enquiries about a box for the night. Quoted me £600 ! Unbelievable. I could buy 50 adult tickets for that price.

Good! Hopefully get a good turnout.

Berholtblue - if boxes were cheap, we would all be in them!

Excellent news, and somewhat surprising given the £15 price of the friendly match. The £1 under-16 price is especially good. I will encourage everyone I know interested in football to go along to this match, as hopefully it will be a home win and a good introduction to Portman Road for new supporters.

Have the league match ticket prices been announced yet? Let's hope these are reduced somewhat too as it's impossible to encourage casual fans to go along when most tickets are over £30 for adults.

AlanMahon2011 - no one's forcing you to go. Stay at home and think up some more anti Clegg lines.

The reason door prices are higher for just about every event you'll find is that the event organisers can prebook any services if tickets are sold. Security, catering, staff and that sort of thing. They'll then add some additional of each thing in to te budget to cover the unknowns, when adding that you add risk too, so that does up costings more pro-rata than your prebooked people who you have already taken the money from and costed exactly. It's the same in any event business. Best case is always a sell out as there are no unknowns at all.

Bergholtblue - Have you enquired about the easy access areas? No stairs at all there for wheel chairs and such, away supporters very welcome also.

Bergholtblue, Email Clegg see if they can make you a special case. Thats what a CEO with a mind for good PR would do.

Dont hold your breath though.
